Posted: Mon Apr 19, 2004 3:16 pm Hello Eisely, This is Singleton Makin, I am a filmmaker/photographer/producer in the Los Angeles area.... First, I am super impressed with your music...I bought both EP's and have been enjoying them dearly.... The reason for my inquiry is to contact you about possibly shooting a MUSIC VIDEO for you in the near future.... I am currently in POST on my FEATURE film "What's in the Box?"....and you can see the TEASER online on my site.....www.carpediempictures.com I plan on coming to the APRIL 24th SHOW at the TROUBADOR...to see you guys perform LIVE...and I would love to be added to the GUEST LIST as to get a BACKSTAGE PASS to MEET YOU....as well as a possible PRESS PASS to TAKE PHOTOS of the EVENT for PRESS RELATED USES.... I was going to SHOOT For the LOS ANGESLES TIMES...as well as the LOCAL MAGAZINE 'VENICE'....which is a GREAT opportunity for you guys to get more EXPOSURE on the LOCAL SCENE as well as have a professional photographer come and shoot one of your shows.... Please forward this to your PUBLICIST....if you have one....I did NOT see any links to this on your site...so I am not sure if you are going this yourself.....or if Warner Bros is in charge of your PR.... The site is wonderful and I like to get more info about you guys and your interest about the MUSIC VIDEO idea that I have for you... THE REASON I WANT TO SHOOT IT IS THAT I HAVE A CASE OF 16mm film left over from my 2nd unit STUFF from my film.... so It would give you a chance to GET some ACTUAL MOTION PICTURE STOCK OF THE BAND instead of just having VIDEO which is what I have only seen so far of your PERFORMANCES.... not that this is BAD...it all looks GREAT... but there are DREAMY qualities to your music and I really think that FILM can do a lot more for you IMAGE and help PROMOTE your STYLE as well....film tends to be more organic in nature....and you can do alot of in camera effects to intensify the look...as well as doing tricks in chemistry during the cross processing of the film and bleach bypassing...which gives you something to put up on Mtv...that will blow past anything the other bands that are up and coming will have to show.... and I can do it on an ultra-low budget...as I said I have been shooting my feature like Robert Rodriguez "ONCE UPON A TIME IN MEXICO"...etc. and we both believe in the guerilla stye filmmaking which gives the look a wonderfully NEW and FRESH look without being too VIDEO like if you know what I mean..... I have faith in you guys as I have never had in another LOCAL BAND... I was going to shoot a video for 'Teiter' as well as a possible DVD project with PINK FLOYD on 'WISH YOU WERE HERE'.....as well as another one in the works for an acoustic LIVE CONCERT for ZZTOP...yep...the one and only....they have not done anything like that... oh yeah....did you guys ever see 'PINK FLOYD-LIVE AT POMPEII>?" I want to shoot something like this....as it was my favorite and most influencial work while growing up listening to the band... even more than 'the wall'... as it was all LIVE ...and then before their'DARKSIDE OF THE MOON' album...so it also had behind the scenes work in the studio.... ok... I hope and pray that I will get to have the opportunity to WORK with you guys on a MUSIC VIDEO/DOCUMENTARY.... I look forward to MEETING YOU AT THE APRIL 24th SHOW at the TROUB... please contact me regarding the PRESS PASS and the BACKSTAGE PASSESS as well....as your interest in having me work on a MUSIC FILM/DOC like 'LIVE AT POMPEII'.....in homage to our heros....'The Floyd' AND I look forward to meeting you guys in person.... please check out my site and feel free to call me at my studio... Cheers Singleton Makin;) _________________ Carpe Diem! Seize the Day as if it was your Last! |

Hello. And welcome to the forum. I'd just like to say that odds are you won't have trouble meeting Eisley. They like to chat at shows... they don't "hide in back." And ... I would suggest PMing Boyd or Kim. They are the ones that you need to contact about this and sometimes it's hard to catch all the threads on here so they might not see this one. So shoot them a PM: Boyd Kim _________________ "Jesus Shaves!" - Jamie |

Best of luck to you. God only knows how many people on this board would love to make a music video for Eisley. _________________ INTELLECT AND ROMANCE OVER BRUTE FORCE AND CYNICISM Smokemonster |
