last night i was at the curtain club, with some "band friends" of mine, but since i haven't asked them if i could say whom they are, i won't disguise their names at this moment (if it's a big deal to you, just e-mail me).....but anyhoo........i have heard from several people that you guys cut the COLDPLAY tour short due to several reasons......i heard many rumors and reasons......such as: the parents made them do it since it was so hard on the family (well that is really the only reason).....but, I wanted to hear it from the horses mouth so to speak. there has to be more, not that i really want details, which we all do, but that can't be expected, but it seems CRAZY to me that anyone would turn down a major touring oppertunity with COLDPLAY.

God Bless you, no one had anything bad to say about you last night, it was nice. you are good people.

haha hmmm...nothing was cut short, we played the whole tour with coldplay. seems like you're very misinformed. you and your "band friends" must have never been to this website before. or kept up on the coldplay tour anywhere. its ok. thats weird though.

huh? wha? wut the...@@%!/??

Nope. 18 shows. (check) That's one more than was planned in the beginning. Since I, (a parental unit) was on the tour...I can assure you it was wall to wall good vibe with no glitches. There was mutual, respectful band love.... the Coldplay guys are true gentlemen; gave the band personal rave reviews...and Eisley opens the main stage at the V-Fest for them in the UK this August. btw...Coldplay will be in the studio this fall.

2 festivals in Ireland and Scotland were being considered...but after management, label and band looked at the time slots and weighed it against the staggering budget to "go".... hmmm, how can I say it... It just didn't make sense. You have to weigh spending 1000's and 1000's of dollars against playing for as few as 300; . So, the general consensus was: it's better to keep writing songs and look toward the full length than to risk that kind of investment. Eisley will do carefully selected local shows...(stay tuned for a news release on this...we're planning something in Tyler), do the UK thing in August and...possibly do a fall club tour in major markets.... record a record...etc.

So....that's what's happening. Exploits with Coldplay will resume for at least one last hurrah. Also expect at least one club date while we're there in London right before their ep is released in the UK in August...on a different label.

all clear? Thanks. I guess the rumors just stemmed from misunderstandings about these July dates mentioned.

After what happened to them before recording Rush, do we really want this again. I love Coldplay, but its just a chance I'm willing to take to keep them together!

well im certainly dissappointed that they arent playing t in the park next week, they are still up on the web site as playing. oh well you obviously know more than them. well hope they are still playing v fest. and i hope they get someone good to replace eisley at t in the park.

oh and yeah nust agree with the logistics of a new band travelling half way across the world to play nothing more than a club gig. cos the crowds for opening bands, realistically will be small.

ahhhhhhhhh ok... see, the sarcasm font serves a very real and vital lesson. pay attention kids, there was wasted bandwidth and time because of a miscommunication that could easily have been solved by using the sarcasm font. may we all learn from this tragedy and never again mock or belittle the greatness of the sarcasm font, and learn to use it with care and respect.

maybe, i should put that in purple italics... maybe not... i don't know whether or not i mean that... you decide. Question

Ok, can illitherian use the term "wasted bandwidth" in a forum post while keeping a straight face? Laughing

Just kidding, you're good illitherian, it's all good. Cool
