And PLEASE don't tell me you all dislike Maroon 5 and MB 20 because they are popular. That is the lamest thing any true music fan could ever say! "Yeah, I used to like them before they got popular." Pathetic. i don't know... i just think it'd be a clashing mixture. i don't dislike those bands because they're popular. i dislike them because most of their songs sounds the same. _________________ Saellys wrote: Thank God for Arielle all your kind, they're coming clean they shut their eyes their mess, their scene |

i too think it's lame to dislike a band just becuase they're popular. however, in order to be popular, most bands have to play boring, dumbed-down, hackneyed, lifeless music, so that's why a good 95% of what you see on mtv or hear on the radio is utter garbage. |

Honestly I've only heard like 2 songs from Maroon 5, so perhaps the jury should still be out, but the more I hear of them, the more I'm in line with my roommate who says they're basically a glorified boy band (he has the CD, and likes them, but still kind of jokes about it because that's what he hears when he listens to it). With songs like "She will be loved" (or whatever it's called), it doesn't seem to much of a stretch. "This Love" was catchy, I'll admit. "She will be loved" annoys me. I guess I'm just not too impressed with them musically, and certainly not lyrically. It's not because they're popular. I just think Eisley could get a better fit somewhere. _________________ "The revolution starts today, not tomorrow." :: got g-Love? |

i agree. i think it's because they got the major record deal. i doubt seriously Jon would have ever considered doing a "new" version of I Dare You to Move. the new one is a joke. i imagine they would have already had a new album out by now. _________________ I am Torgo. I don't think it will happen. (eisley/switchfoot that is) I vote for eisley to headline their own intimate shows... which translates: small shows. If you want a sample of how that would be - find a time machine and go back to see them on: "The West Coast Tour" or "The Tiny Texas Tour" or at New Years at Tree's '03. If you can't find a time machine, buy tickets to see them this year - same time, same station . But seriously, I'd book venues that only hold like 2 or 300 in most markets. On the West Coast and in Texas and...in Seattle/Chicago and a few other markets, maybe go 500 capacity. Remember when they played Sinead in New York City? Maybe 150 capacity... an amazing show. It's not size that matters. btw. There is an important topic we all need to revisit that's about to be lobbed on the table very soon... I'm going to probably introduce it under "Full Length a Comin'" because it relates to what is to come as a result of the release of the full length, WB, the forum, marketing, etc. Reading your posts about "popularity" made me think of it. _________________ EisleyWebGuy "The industrialists never saw the fruit of their own labor - Post Moderism, which I now proclaim as dead.
