I havent had cable since I was in jr high many years ago, and for the most part I dont really miss it.. (except for shark week!)

So.. If you were to ask the question "how much of the mtv awards will you be watching?" I would have to say "none, none of the awards"

what? huh?

actually... since most of the music videos played on MTV are from a genre that i don't listen to... probably not. i'd just be like, "ugh, get me some o' dat eisley action" and then i'd be the happiest little chickadee in the north east ...tarrant county area.

but i dunno, jonathan might watch it, so i'll probably catch a few glimpses and bad jokes. Very Happy

My life was changed by the 1992 MTV VMAs, which were shockingly good. (Nirvana being the main thing.) It was when I discovered good music. It was especially hard then to get anything decent through the Pine Curtain to Kilgore. Wow, that was 11 years ago ... I'm too young to start feeling old.

Since then, however, whenever I watch, it's been disappointing. But, if there is a band/artist I like, I will watch that. Award shows are stupid, but the music can be good.

I heard a rumor that radiohead might show up for that.. but for some reason it seems unlikely, since they're no tour.. however, you never know, those record people will to practically anything sometimes

Actually Mark, you won't be watching.
You will be rehearsing in Tyler, with the Vineyard Church worship team Razz

We are going to try and get someone to record them for us. Can't miss COLDPLAY'S performance!

Yeah, Coldplay is playing and Johnny Cash's video of "Hurt" is up for several categories [I heard] and should hopefully, RIGHTFULLY, whip the competition's arse.

Those are two reasons to watch. Doubt I will; I'll forget.

If you haven't seen/heard Johnny Cash's version of Hurt.. oh my wow - you need to. It moved me to tears, and not much music does that. It's online somewhere.. oh here

yeah, but even if Hurt should win the award, doesn't mean it will. it was either the 97 or 98 MTV awards, and Foo Fighters "Everlong," DMB "Blood in the Water," and Aerosmith "Pink" were all up for best video and somehow, someway, "Pink" won, even though it was an absolute pants video, esp compared to either "Everlong" which was really fun and amusing or "Blood in the water" which I thought was visually stunning.

oh well.... perhaps Triumph will get into another fight with Eminiem this year....

Two reason for my no:
1) I don't have MTV.
2) Rooney is playing on David Letterman that night anyway.

Dave called last night just to talk about Eisley's upcoming recordings and stragegies, etc. form New York - where he's with Coldplay. They're playing "The Scientist" tonight. It's going to be amazing. You guys watch it. come on...for Coldplay's sake. They're freakish live.
bd

watch Coldplay and have the tv control to swith over to Rooney... tell me how they are live. new record is very promising.
