anyway, is that what you meant by the whole texas thing? Texas as a whole may be very republican but Austin is a democrat's playground. You can find them everywhere. I'd say Texas is in the 60/40 zone as far as Republicans and Democrats. Texas used to be a very solid Democrat state, as recently as the early-'80s. How this affects Eisley as a band is not worth mentioning. Eisley the people, I'm sure, have preferences. Texas suffers from a particularly rough case of stereotyping. You can't have a state this big and be full of one type of people. I'm rambling.

i on one hand can understand why the band, should not/does not have to answer if they don't wish. in my own opinion its a smart move not to discuss the matter. 1.) to some people voting is a private issue 2.) look at Whoppi and other celebrities, it gets some people into a mess, that they have a hard time getting out of and 3.) its not a wise discussion to discuss the matter cause some companies and other people can look at you badly in the business field because of your "voting history". 4.) like we've already stated, it does not really matter cause bush is going to get tx's vote anyways... however if the band wants to post about the issue, i am sure they will post, otherwise i think we, as a whole, should give them their space and not intrude on personal things such as voting. they are people too! sorry if i may sound rude, but thats just my own opinion and how i feel, especially when people get pushy on things like this _________________ -Greg Durant- |

Sorry if that upset you, but, I guess since we are from the South, maybe we are all a bit old fashioned in this area. We believe that some matters are private, and you tend to keep more friends if you respect their privacy, and respect their right to keep some of their business, "their business" and no one else's. Also, Eisley is just not one of those band's that tries to push their political views on anyone. There are plenty of boards out there for this type of discussion, and it's just not something that we really enjoy getting into, on the board, or even with friends. Things always get heated in these kinds of discussions, and lead nowhere. We do encourage everyone to VOTE their convictions. I don't know if I would state something so emphatically. I know plenty of people that are on opposite sides of the party and they just don't discuss their political stance in order to save their friendship. We are all just people, and this is just the way we feel about airing our political views. We are very open in most of our life. This forum is like a looking glass into our living room most of the time. But, some things we feel are private matters. This happens to be one of them. No offense to anyone who is curious, or who feels they like to share their politcal views with the world. This is just one of those areas, (and there are other's), that we/Eisley chooses to keep private. I hope you all can understand.
