First I'll list the 5 top bands of all times in no specific order.

The Beatles
Led Zepplin
Pink Floyd
Radiohead
The Pixies

First its non-debatable who is the top five best bands of all time...because here they are Twisted Evil

I am not going to use a poll because I hate them. and who shall Eisley replace in the very near future?

Thoughts
I think they'll take the place of none of these...

But if they succeed in carving out their own,
small piece of real estate in our minds...how
nice. I'd rather see another plaque near the
ones you've mentioned. Maybe it could say:

"Eilsey. A Special Kind of Music Was for Us..."

because they aren't that great. I respect their influence, but they aren't top 5 of all time.

Cough! Cough!

Actually, I'm not that into the Pixies as I'd like to be. I don't think Eisley will replace them, though. I don't think Eisley will replace anyone on that list. I'm with Boyd; if my band had the options, I think we'd rather be ranked somewhere next to or slightly below all of them in the minds of the general populace.

I can see it now, thousands of people walking by the plaque, and just thinking to themselves... "Who the heck is Eilsey?"

Josh.

woah, Kevin. a huge compliment. If Eisley were even to come close to
rivaling the impact of Fleetwood Mac, it would blow the lid off my tiny,
tiny, tiny, tiny, tiny, tiny brain.

Look, at this point, it would blow the lid off my tiny, tiny, tiny, tiny, tiny,
tiny brain if they even got a song that charted on Nat'l radio...like even
way way down on the list. But, sorry... no way to replace Fleetwood Mac.
And...how many hits did "Rumors" have on it again? Sheesh...

I don't know ... I think Eisley is too unique to take the place of any band at all. If they become hugely successful, they'll be in a musical niche all their own ... it'll be because they're so different from everything else. If I HAD to choose a band they could possibly take the place of(sound wise), I'd say a cross between U2, Sorta and Ed Harcourt, even if the last two bands aren't that big ... I say U2 for the kind of dreamy feel you get when you're listening to both Eisley and U2. The same with Sorta ... the keys in both Eisley and Sorta are really great. And Ed Harcourt for the really beautiful, lovely lovely lyrics.

I'd swap U2 for the Pixies there, personally.
