Shain asked: Quote: is it signed gum? NO! It's Eisley CHEWED gum! What were you thinkin! Hey, everyone...I'm in LA LA land with the band. They're going through clothes, (mostly their own stuff) to pick out for the video. I'm suppose to be video taping everything...Boyd's orders...but I'm not good at it like him, and they keep changing, so I can't video while they are changing I mean, I think I got Sherri pinching Stacy somewhere that needs to be edited now Anyway, I've read through all of this, and the comment I like the most was by someone that spoke of how none of us like change. (more elaborate than that). But, I guess from my point of view, I wanted to tell everyone my fears. I guess what I fear is, will you all stick with the band? Will you all support the band that you have loved and helped grow? I sense such animosity towards some to the things that come along with success, and Eisley is still Eisley, they just want the opportunity to continue to be Eisley, and do it on a larger scale. When you become a parent, you have to take the good and the bad with each step of your child's growth. One day you look up and those sweet fat baby face cheeks are gone, but do I try to keep them a toddler? No, because of my undying love for my kids, I embrace their growth, and their progress. All of it...the good, the bad, and the ugly. |

I'm apart of E-merge, and to be honest with you all at first I was all crazy about getting points but now I love talking to the others who adore Eisley, I love taking the trivia and all. I have yet to see Eisley live, and I don't know when I will be able to, I can't drive and the closest they come to me is 3 or so hours away. I WISH I could see them live, meet them but I can't. |

I can agree with that, that growing does cause pain, but I have commited to this band, and the awesome, loving people in it, and no amount of growth is giong to turn me off. The only reason I have stopped following bands is when they get snobby (a "friend's" band did that) and quit coresponding with their fans alltogether. And honestly I think that everyone associated with eisley are the most friendly down to earth people, including this awesome, self governed, community. And I honestly REALLY dont see the members of eisley getting stupid snobby. period. dont worry kim I am here to stay, I didnt leave the forum when it got bigger than I wanted, I futily fought the change but in the end, I just changed what I wanted out of the forum with the forums growth. Thats the way I am; I dont skimp on my commitments. lots of love. shain. _________________

No, because of my undying love for my kids, I embrace their growth, and their progress. All of it...the good, the bad, and the ugly. I NEVER thought I'd see the word ugly ANYWHERE in a sentnce relating to Eisley. ^_^ I wanna see sherri pinching Stacy by the way. It most likely isn't how I imagine it though...I imagine it's like when my sisters pinch me and I go OW, and rub it and hit them slightly. but meh. ^_^ I have nothin to say about the emerge thingy or the prizes, or the points or anehthin because if it's for Eisley's growth and Prosperation then I'm there (by the way.....I would die of happiness if Sherri's art were in my hands, because the only thing in the world I love more than Eisley is art and this is a mix of Eisley and art so it's like superior than it, it's like....Eisley art...well it's actually Sherri art but....you get my point) _________________ ---------------------------------------------- - - - If you woke up today; yesterday was a great accomplishment. ~ Ramón ~ |

As an e-merge member and as a person who is extremely interested in marketing (from the viewpoint of a sociologist rather than a marketing major) I have a few points to make. 1: Professional word of mouth marketing is EXTREMELY effective if done well and it is here to stay. 2: No offense to Karina (she does a GREAT job), but fanpimp's tactics are not the most effective. Points need to be given for things that actually help promote the band. The people who will promote the band the best are probably already visiting Eisley.org or Eisley.com already, so having people spam random sites with a bunch of banners asking for to people to join the e-team of a band they aren't already fans of probably wont do much. One of the things that would have done some good that wasn't pushed enough was the Subteranean vote. Sure, there was some tough competition. I should say, extremely tough, impossibly tough competition, but with approximately 1500 e-merge members (at the time) we could have put forth a lot more effort to do well in that event. 3: There are a lot of people on e-merge who are complete leeches. Sure, having your friends join emerge is cool. But when it comes time to do the important objectives like the Launch event thats going on right now, the people who only joined to help you win a drawing by Sherri probably aren't going to go out of their way to get more than a couple votes. Even a lot of the people who post constantly on there have said that they don't use yahoo, or dont have many friends who use it. I have voted 106 times, all from seperate yahoo accounts. It's not that hard, and it is going to take that kind of effort to win this competition. Well, I've rambled on long enough. In summary, the idea of e-merge is good but the current manifestion of it might not be the most effective possible. |

I guess what I fear is, will you all stick with the band? Will you all support the band that you have loved and helped grow? forever, even when jon wants his girlfriend sunshine to join, and play the triangle...even when eisley decides they want to start a rap project under the name "ThE MozZZZ eiSlIezZZZ"...and when their 31st album is called, "We hate NiQ(Jack_Stripes), and dont want him listenening to our music anymore" ...if that happens _________________ chinese food makes me sick |

I guess what I fear is, will you all stick with the band? Yes absolutely, I think a lot of people/fans here feel a real loyalty to Eisley. And we were already promoting in our own ways. Emerge is just a really structured way of doing it which works for some people and feels a bit wrong for others. but its how the industry works and its good that the record company is so eager to get the music heard. _________________ ~Lisa~ 'Can I rely on you when all the songs are through' - Guy Garvey 'It's never over, shes the tear that hangs inside my soul forever.' - Jeff Buckley |

Fanpimps tactics are probably not the most effective, but they at least serve some purpose. Some effectiveness is better than no effectiveness. It gets the "Eisley" name out there and perhaps even their music if people choose to listen to it. And while spamming boards and what not "won't do much", I can tell you it does work some. I've gotten over 20 strangers to join e-merge and hundreds more to listen to Eisley's music for the first time. Some admitting didn't like it, but some loved it! Some went out and bought their EP's and concert tickets already. And that my friend is definitely something. I think everyone can agree that this is what we call in the Army "a 50 meter target". We must go after this one with extreme importancy. This contest will definitely help "launch" Eisley (pun intended). And it is easy, I've voted over 200 times and 100 times yesterday alone. Sure it took a few hours, but its well worth the sacrifice. I hope other people on the board are doing the same thing as us. |
