We dont believe in working on the day that God rested. Therefor LDS (mormon) folk usually dont even leave the house. Can you believe it? lol. Skabro Look at it this way, They're not working, they're performing because they love to do it. You just happen to have to buy tickets, because they need to pay for the facility to play in. Nobody's working, they're just partying...with their own creation. I would think that your god would love the idea of creation, and thus, would totally agree with Eisley. See, it's all about perspective...now you're free to go, Thread Closed! HAHA! Sorry bro, but the VENUE still has people working at it. How can you ban a subject like this. There are a lot of pointless threads on this site. And this maybe one of them to but we really get to talk about what ever you want. There is a thread that is dedicated to math for crying out loud. Also this thread was not supposed to be completly about religion. This was a thread explaining why it is a tragedy why I can't go to the eisley concert. Sure I can't go because of my religious beliefs but that is it. I also wanted to point out the fact that ticket sales would be less then medeoker because in Utah the population is mostly mormon. And most of them feel the same way about going to concerts on a sunday. If you want to make a huge deal about me talking about religion then contact the aclu and sue me cause I can talk about anything I want. I know this is a touchy subject with people but I don't understand why. This whole thing about being cautious about what your beliefs are is just ridiculous. We should be able to say whatever are beliefs are and we shouldn't be judgemental about what other peoples beliefs are. I know christians, muslims, buddists, and some jewish people and they are all my friends just because they don't believe in what I believe in doesnt make them less of people. How about we stop making a big deal about this and just focus on music. |

The only thing that is currently "banned" is politics, actually. I'm making a post right this moment in that thread, actually. Hopefully things should be much more clear within two weeks. I apologize for any confusion. This thread has been fine so far, FYI. _________________ "The revolution starts today, not tomorrow." :: got g-Love? |

You know, all Kim was trying to say was that it is a touchy subject, and that people have blown up about it in the past. It is beginning to look like that may be proven, yet again. And now for my two cents: There are more than 6 billion people in this world. Chances are that, in reality, there are just as many religions. Everyone must decide for themselves what they really believe in, and if they feel the need to follow what someone else prescribes that is their choice. However, I don't know ANYONE that follows what their religion says to the letter. I know Jews and Muslims who eat pork. I know Christians who drink and commit adultry. I know many other people who commit, what we might consider, much smaller violations of what their prescribed texts lays out for right and wrong. None of these people feel like they have done much wrong. Seems to me that everyone has their own religion, and no matter how small two peoples' beliefs differ it is still a difference. Everyone must decide for themselves what they believe, and you, my friends, have to decide if you can go see Eisley on Sunday. Take what you will from this. I mean no offense. JD P.S. Did I mention how much I love ice cream. Not so much now that it is cold out, but give it a few months. I also have a sno-cone machine. _________________ "Well, hopefully that's our job, to strap rockets onto everything." - Adam Savage, Mythbusters |

I agree with jdstories. Black and White on paper, becomes a big gray area when people appply it. Usually. _________________ Audioscrobbler Now

Where did I say anything about being offended or banning this? There's nothing to apologize for. I was pointing out that it's not banned to discuss religion, that's all. This topic involves religion, obviously, and this thread has been fine. _________________ "The revolution starts today, not tomorrow." :: got g-Love? |

I know it won't change the long-standing tradition of church services being held on Sunday instead of Saturday, but if it'll make you feel any better about going ahead and attending the concert, I suggest you research the Bible and try to find any basis for the switching of the Sabbath. Really... |
