guitargalash wrote: I am so so so lost! In the original version of "Telescope Eyes," the third verse began, "Dear Matthew, why can't you see you're just not near enough like me." It was a good line, much akin to "Kill me Sarah," in "Lucky," by Radiohead. It was scrapped on the Laughing City version as well as the one recorded for Room Noises. _________________ INTELLECT AND ROMANCE OVER BRUTE FORCE AND CYNICISM Smokemonster |

I miss the old words. I think they gave the song more meaning. Now, the song is kindof repetetive. It has less substance... I do like the new music, however. it's good. keep new music, bring back old words! Oh, you humor me today Calling me out to play With your telescope eyes, metal teeth I can’t be seen with you, you freak Go cry, Go run away Let your short legs carry you away With your big dress and your dirty hair Your pen’s waiting for you Just get far, far away from me I don’t want your disease ... *sigh* i'm glad there are some old-skool eisley fans who agree w/me |

I like the original lyrics, too. I'm quite sure the label had them change the lyrics. I don't think the band even wanted to record it for the EP or Room Noises, since it's older and they'd just rather be moving on. But it's been quite popular, ergo... first single. _________________ "The revolution starts today, not tomorrow." :: got g-Love? |

You can hear the original versin of Telescope Eyes over at OGG. Should be the one under "Independent Recordings". _________________ "The revolution starts today, not tomorrow." :: got g-Love? |
