Seriously everyone, as a GM a=of a college station, I know how college radio works...if you request enough EISLEY will become a mainstay at a college station...THAT is exactly why we are playing 3 songs off of Room Noises!

this is true, as a college radio DJ, i can say that is an accurate statement, so call your local college radio station and request Eisley like 3 times an hour...

i got the reference right off... not a bad headline actually.

i can't tell you how pleased i am to see the culture that's embracing the band. Everything that's happening today fly's in the face of the big cheesy press that first came out of the blow hole of the industry - reviews, press... and especially the web explosion - it all points to one thing: credibility. I for one, am thankful. College radio rules. There couldn't be a better foundation. Thanks to all of you in that demographic with a taste for this kind of music...

I agree, I bet WB never expected this! Wasn't the college age group supposed to be slightly on the high side of their demographic? And you're right about the credibility thing, if you're popular on college radio, you're automatically cool and you kind of get this "cutting edge/hip" icon status. From what I've experienced, college radio has this reputation for only really celebrating quality music, college kids simply are too smart to be fooled by the industry-created crap. This is a sign of very good things to come.

the college kids involved in radio (or the scene in general) are too smart to be fooled by the industry-created crap. the majority of college students, however, are just in to dave matthews, john mayer, or whatever mtv tells them to like.

You know what, I am in college now, and there are PLENTY of easily fooled people. They do tend to get more variety, and a lot of new stuff. Just keep in mind that college doesn't make smart people.

I've came and gone through college. Ok, not 100% of college students have great taste in music. Some are fooled. But, I really have to disagree with you about Dave Matthews and John Mayer. I do because I started listening to both before they became popular. I had a friend introduce me to DMB before "Under the Table and Dreaming" had come out and I started listening to "Room for Squares" when you could buy it for $6.99. Both I instantly fell in love with because they are immensely talented artists, not because they were popular or I heard them on the radio.

This is why college radio is a great "foundation". Because in college its much more common for kids to find "crazy" great music from all over the world. If its good, it becomes popular just like Dave and John. Then it spreads to the rest of the demos.
