ok im not sure at all how any one feels about this, but i am interested to hear. I have some friends that are into Animal Rights, a few are part of the A.L.F. They are either Vegetarians or Vegans. I am a vegetarian myself, but i am not animal rights, just eating something that was once alive makes me gag...

any way, the point of this was, what do you feel about Animal Rights. The other day some of my friends held a protest agains Wet Seal, they have found that that torchier animals before killing them for there fur and leather.

So i just like to hear peoples point of view on the subject....

i try to eat like vegetarian, but as i live at home, and my family is a bunch of carnivores, i dont really want to starve, so i eat some meat. other than that though, its fruits, cottage cheese, and vegetables, rabbit food...

Very Happy

i feel that being a vegetarian or vegan is fine, but (not saying you need to) most of them need to shut up and keep their views to themselves. i find it highly offensive when they scoff at me for eating meat.

protesting animal cruelty is a different matter. i'm glad your friends did that.

thanks. Yeah i hate it as well when people say your a "bad person" for how you ear. No one has the right to put others down. But at the protest we seemed to reach alot of people. Some people even stopped and talked to us and then didnt go into the store. yay!!

I oppose animal cruelty, but to suggest that animals have rights is like saying plants have rights. It's ludicrous.

However, measures must be take to regulate our sovereignty over animals, so that future generations can admire and enjoy the fruits of our planet.

I beg your pardon??!! Mad

hahaha jk jk jk Laughing

I´m in no category, I just eat food.
I don´t know about animal rights... I think that most important is that we don´t run out of species, cuz that´s no good for the environment, and the food chain and all that stuff... who knows...
So, you can eat animals, as long as you don´t deplete the whole species. After all, animals eat each other. You´re gonna arrest a Lion cuz it ate a zebra? Now, THAT would be animal cruelty!

Ditto. It's like religion. Be an example and not a loudmouth. It's offensive unless you ask to hear about it. Of course, talking down on people sucks period. But I have to say you've done none of this so far, so this isn't directed at you. Smile

I had bratwurst for dinner last night.

I like meat. But I give mad props to Veggies and Vegans...because finding stuff to eat (especially if you are a vegan) is mega hard. So go you for that dedication.

I've always been really interested in animal rights/cruelty. I've been toying with becoming vegan for a while. But since I live at home, where both my parents aren't vegetarians and eat meat fairly regularly, it's hard.

I think it's important for people to know how the food they eat gets to their table. And if people don't really care what is done to the animals that are killed for their meal, then that's fine.

It's becoming easier for vegans to find things to eat. There are many dairy-free alternatives to lots of foods. However, a lot of those products can be very expensive.

for me this is the bigger issue surrounding food consumption. there is so much wastefulness and carelessness involved in most food production (both of meat and vegetables/fruits) that is harming the earth so so much that its really important that we all understand where our food is coming from and what the people behind the food we eat are doing. everyone should read HOPE'S EDGE as its a wonderful book about the importance of organics and the role of food production in creating community and peace and life on earth. mine is not a high horse, i swear.
