Ok...so...now we all agree that, it's not cool to make fun of NFG, or RTFE on this board.
It's ok to say that you are not a fan of their music, or their band, but mean comments about either of them, are just as uncool as we would feel if people came on here and bashed EISLEY.

Something we the citizens of Laughing City should think about, and know....we have NFG and RTFE fans watching how we act on here. They lurk to see how Eisley fans are, and I bet a lot of them have just left, (just like we would probably do), because people here have, (in other threads), bashed their favorite bands.

So...let's bring it up a notch, and think before we post.

Agreed?

some people really do act like those people who heckled in the front line...i mean, that kind of action is thought to be cool, differentiating, and freedom-showing. Some people apparenly think like that...can't do nothing, can we?
some laughing city citizens did bash NfG in the previous threads about Eisley touring with non-compatible band, so to say...some said it was okay, some bashed NfG, some said they should have gone with other bands...i said they should go with some other bands...but seeing that they do have fun with NfG, well that makes me happy...it was actually meant to be in musical term...not bout NfG themselves...but i agree that eisley fans won't heckle like that in any concert...i know i won't...
i think we should just forget about it...it's not something worth thinking...such people exist...and our Eisley should know that by now, that there are such people too...i hope they could stay strong, and not bother those people...as long as they don't harm us in any way that we should call the cops...well, let's just forget them and try to enjoy the show...

What are you talking about? What effect did it have? The only results I've seen have been a perfectly legitimate thread thrown off subject, and a couple of very nice people have been made to feel bad about something they didn't even do, namely bashing NFG. If Wonderchica feels the need to make a post like that then it should've been made in response to people that were bashing NFG. No one has done that in this thread, at all. Her target audience should be people that want to bash NFG. Those people will go to those threads, so her post should have been in one of those threads. Since it has become obvious that no one here has any desire to bash NFG, it would seem that nothing was accomplished by that post, except for the disruption of a few nice peoples' lives.

Agreed, Kim. I'm sorry if I ever bashed NFG. I was mainly ticked at their fans, but being the loving and forgiving Christian that I am, I'll let it go. I know what I said before about beating the crap out of whoever flicked them off. It was more of a joke than a real action. I am sorry to those I have offended by posting this. My bad. You can remove this post if need be, Kim.

Once again, I am truly and deeply sorry.

i think the hecklers are good only from the point of view that it makes eisley stronger as Kim said. every band has to experience booing or something of the sort at least once in their career. wouldnt you find it weird if you were a band that was loved by EVERYONE in the audience and cheered on each time??
those rude comments and mocking can make a band be even more motivated to put the best show they can, or more inspiration.

as for the bashing of other bands online, i have seen way worse message boards. people here are as nice as they can get, for the most part.

No beer thrown at them yet though, like on the Brand New tour, eh? That's good.

I think it did have an effect... people listened, people read it and people realize that certain things are offending and wrong. I'm starting to like Eisley, but the way other fans are treating newcomers makes me NOT want to like them... I don't think this was taken off subject because people were talking about the immaturity of the fans at this show.... and those fans are NFG/RATFE fans... I am one of them. I was at the Hartford show where this was also displayed. I think people generalize too much about the nfg fans saying we're all immature teenies... well, we're not all that way. I'm about to turn 22 and I have all the respect in the world for all bands, even the ones I don't like. I don't boo, I don't heckle, and I don't bash the bands that my favorite band is on tour with.

anyway, I think it was on point and I think that we've all said what we had to say... and some people just need to stop being rude to others with opinions different than their own...

Hey...thanks for posting those. Cool buttons!
It all makes sense now.

and, JD...were you angry up there ^^^? Cause, it seemed like you were angry. I'm trying not to assume and accuse, so I thought I would ask.
This thread seems like it has been completely civil and positive all in all.
Send my your thoughts in a pm if you felt bad about something I said.
thanks,

You should know that I try never to state opinions if I don't have to. The simple fact of the matter is that the post that began these shenanigans was a post concerned about Eisley fans bashing NFG. Since there was no NFG bashing going on in this thread, then obviously it was off subject. Also, I think it has obviously made some people feel badly about bashing NFG, when, infact, NO ONE in this thread bashed NFG.

I glad you don't heckle bands you don't like. Just about everyone on this forum is the same way. I'd go so far as to say that you probably couldn't walk into an NFG forum and read about how Eisley fans were booing and hissing rudely at their favorite band. However, the thread began to expressed dislike for those fans of NFG that were rude, and not to bash NFG. I don't get how you can be confused by the difference.

Kim, I love your posts! I'm sad that you'd think you could've had something to do with my seething earlier. You are obviously a very wise person, and that is confirmed with each post you make. What triggered it was the fact that some of these comments made a good friend of mine (ABBAgirl) feel like she'd done something wrong. I found no evidence of her bashing NFG, and I hate that someone's thoughless words could make her feel so bad about something she didn't even do. This thread was never supposed to be about NFG at all.

My original post was NEVER intended to upset anyone in this thread or to imply that anyone who had posted was bashing New Found Glory. Not ABBAgirl, not J.D. I'm sorry that you both felt attacked- that was never my intention.

While I was reading the post and everyone was upset about people at the show being cruel to Eisley, it made me think to previous posts on the board that referred to NFG. Little comments are constantly made degrading NFG, a band who has done nothing but be kind and generous to Eisley. Since this post had already been going fairly well, I figured it might be a good opportunity to mention NFG bashing. I thought that I expressed my thoughts clearly and maturely, and I had hoped that others would take the time to read and reflect on them. I took time to read and reflect on the original post, and I hoped that others would give me the same courtesy. I didn't make my post to anger people. I thought that since we were talking about people being rude to Eisley, most of the boardies favorite band, I could explain how I felt when people said rude things to my favorite band (New Found Glory).

I guess to sum it all up, I said what I needed to say and I don't feel I should be degraded for it. I never intended to disrespect anyone.

Again, JD, there is no need to be rude. I had to say what I had to say, as did wonderchica. I'm not here to get a rise out of anyone nor to anger anyone, but it seems that all I get from making a comment of my own is to be berrated by people who don't know me. I had the courtesy to PM Kim and tell her my feelings and she agreed with me.

I'm sorry that you think that this thread turned into us commenting on NFG bashing... threads get out of control all the time. And I still think that what wonderchica had to say is right. JD, you're treating us like children and look down on my comments condesendingly. I don't find that very nice...

I made comments in a tone that was not meant to come out rude, nor make anyone upset. I'm not trying to get people to apologize, I just want people to see the other side of the argument. You are huge Eisley fans, and we are huge NFG fans. They have gone out of their way to help promote this band. They are very generous and kind men.

Not every NFG fan is a little teeny bopper... and I hate the generalization that people here give to the NFG fan basis.

Again, I am sorry if anyone is offended or made to feel sorry. These aren't my intentions... if you want to bring something up with me, feel free to PM me because I feel like we're all just going a little overboard and getting out of hand...
