 Post subject: New Eisley Vs. OldPosted: Sun May 29, 2005 5:29 pm 
A few minutes ago I was listening to a big playlist of mixed old and new Eisley songs, and I began to think of how much more I like their old stuff. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love their new songs; however, their old songs were more out of this world... dealing with fantasy-realted, mystical, almost unrealistic things. I hope their next full length album will be more like their old stuff. This was just a random late night thought. Comments? |

yeah, room noises does seem less magic and mystery, probably cos the label wanted something easier to access or some BS...hence their attempt to kill the dragon...bastards... but its all good...i thing their newer stuff is tighter...ya know? i don't know...its al lgood to me... _________________ welcome to the no pants club boone |

I think EP2 was a really awesome EP. Very indie, very new. I really loved it. But I think Eisley is growing and developing, and I think you can tell their writing has really matured, and as andrew said, it's much tighter. Vocally, I think they've gotten better, too. Stacy does alot of really cool vocal tricks, and they both have such great control over their voices and how and where they move them. It's really amazing. I like lots of their new stuff that wasn't on the album. For instance, my favourite Eisley songs are Lady of the Wood, They All Surronded Me, and The Escaping Song. Personally, I love all three of those. I think it's hard to say which Eisley you like better... old eisley (mosseisley, I guess), or new Eisley. They both are good. As I'm sure I've said before--I'm glad Eisley's music changing. It shows its growing and developing and evolving. If it was the same for years, I personally would be a little bit worried (and bored, most likely.). |

I think the only real difference I've seen other than quality of recording equipment and the overall tightness of the band is that their newer stuff is a little less melancholy. Which happens. I'd hope they won't stay in the same mood forever. the difference between the new and old songs is in the vocal quality. the new studio opportunities did wonders for the girls. |

I agree that vocally, the new stuff is much tighter. I do LOVE Room Noises, but it seems like they aren't rocking out like they used to - Sleepy Head, Head Against the Sky, Blackened Crown, Over the Mountains, etc. _________________ xanga | livejournal | photobucket | what I'm listening to |

I definately like Moss Eisley better. Actually, I really liked everyone of their songs up until the full length came out. I like the new songs, but I just don't feel them as much when I listen the cd. The live recordings from last year are better, personally, for some reason. I remember reading, here on the forum a few months ago, that Eisley said their next album will be more agressive. Never heard one iota of the older music.. I'm sure I'd love it, being a fan of anything from Mars Volta to Captain Beefheart to Stravinsky. The Room Noises CD... I adore it... This was a truly fine piece of work. The first time I heard this music, was like a light bulb going off in my head. Poof.... yep ---that's it--- that's what I have been missing, in everything else, by everyone else. This very first moment I heard this music was my very own Personal Epiphany. a moment in time... captured..... Just wait until the rest of the world finds out about this band... I like all of it! Moss Eisley is more "fun". Weston's bass sounds more alberti bass (can't believe I remembered that term*) and jumpy. yeh, it's raw, and it's great. However, with time they've got more serious, methinks, and so the sounds that comes from Eisley have become more refined. They're still awesome. More awesome than Moss and Towheads (i prefer that name, though!). So, I would say Eisley.
