In terms of ethos, I like the older Eisley because of the whole indie perspective and the style. But now, the vocal harmonies are even tighter. _________________ Thistledown |

The songs that have most recently been written have a very bouncy and energetic feeling to them. Much more original than anything they put out in the Moss days. Room Noises wasn't wholly representative of that, but they had to cover a lot of ground with it. If you happen to know roughly when the songs were written, look at them in that order. It will paint a different picture for you. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

I love the sound of their new music, and some of their songs still have that out of this world imagery in them such as Plenty of Paper... but I just like their old lyrics better... more melancholy and mysterious. But I do understand that bands change as they grow up. I still love Eisley and support them 100% though. |

I don't really see too much of a difference between "older" Eisley & "newer" Eisley originals, but after growing accustomed to the Room Noises versions of Memories and, especially, Telescope Eyes, and then listening to the EP versions, I think that they lost a lot...but that's what you get when you try to remake songs...they're almost never as good as the originals. Then again, they should re-do Tree Tops...that song had potential. |

i think eisley have progressed wonderfully. as much as my favorite song is an old one (blackened crown), i think the new songs are very good. the new stuff is just more cleaned up. _________________ http://thegirlinthebearhat.tumblr.com/ |

i like the older eisley stuff... i think the "room noises" album's targetting to be more mainstream?.. so therefore more audience. i guess it good for eisley?. _________________ http://its-kitsch.deviantart.com/ |

Maybe a song or two was picked because it would be a safer radio bet (Telescope Eyes, at the behest of the higher ups who paid for the darn thing). It's just the 12 songs they could get to best reflect the band they were, are and will become. If they wanted mainstream, they would have buzzed the guitars more, and rewritten most of the lyrics. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

If Lost at Sea and My Lovely were replaced with something like, The Escaping Song and They All Surrounded Us, it would've been a whole lot better. Whole lot. _________________ "Aren't we all hanging from a fragile vine awaiting an inevitable plunge to doom while mice gnaw at our temporary safety? Whole lot. I would lament the loss of My Lovely. Which is where the truth comes out that we could come up with about 30 preferred versions of this album. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

Strangely enough, my best friend doesn't like Eisley because of their (in her words) "girl voices and weird/strange lyrics" and that's from listening to Room Noises. oh well, as we agreed, to each her own! on the topic, I like the old recordings and Room Noises. so all is well to me. _________________

Yeah, I think old Eisley is so much better. A long time ago I could identify with their lyrics... now they sing about finding trolleys and not being able to find them again. Sorry but that does nothing for me. _________________ I jumped in the river and what did I see Black-eyed angels swam with me |
