I'm just wondering, and don't take offense, but is Emo a good term for the band or am I way out in left field? no. emo is a bad term to fit eisley to in my opinion. to me, eisley's got a very classic sound. sure, it's sensitive rock, but it's not like "oh my god i hate life i'm so sad listen to my music and make me money so i can still be sooo very sad." granted, thats not all 'emo' bands, but anyway. my opinion, eisley's better than an emo band. theyre a rock band with sensitive lyrics, great harmonies and a solid, solid songwriting capabillity. _________________ knives don't have your back. |

Well said, Jay. I agree. I think that maybe part of what gets Eisley mixed in with the emo genre at times (at least, with my limited knowledge and exposure to the band so far) is the fact that their lyrics are quite frank when dealing with negative emotions. Males tend to write differently about their feelings, usually in a more indirect manner. The difference with emo bands is that when they create their songs, it's usually just whining about their bad luck with a girl or something. However, with Eisley, it seems like they're genuinely putting forth their point of view about a given topic and the hope that exists within. They're not just complaining about things like emo bands seem to. I don't know... |

To me, calling them emo would be misrepresenting the band's music. The reason why has already been mentioned in other posts, so there's no need for me to reiterate. _________________ Coprophiliacs make sh*tty lovers. Flickr Transvaal IV - Myspace : Virb Deep Thoughts About Shallow Subjects |
