There ARE some problems. This is a Boyd way to check quality control on the printing and report to WB. Here's the scoop: I found 30 copies that were seriously whacked at Hastings in Tyler yesterday morning. (10 that were good). Then, Josiah, from the band- Holland called me from Nashville and said there were many copies with horrible printing. I freaked and alerted WB. You guys are the only real network of people who can identify the problems in various markets over the US. Please look in the cd bin and check "Marvelous Things" for printing with this problem: Basically, it's WAY OUT OF REGISTER...the red is way off... which means, the front and back look almost 3d or very blurry. That's it. Easy to spot from a galloping horse. It's front and back. (same page, of course, only folded) We will feel horrible if anyone buys these. I'm sure WB will totally RECALL these bad ones, so if you got a copy, maybe you should take it back. I don't want the market flooded with crap. Each store seems to have perfectly good ones and perfectly horrible ones. There's no inbetween. Please comment and let me know. I just called Tower and Virgin in Dallas...same thing. There are bad ones. ------------- UPDATE Been talking with WB. They recognize the problem and are alerted... They will procede with logical avenues to make right the problem. Craig Aaronson, our A&R guy, (Sr. VP) said in all the years he's been in the business, it's the first time he's seen this problem...and to be assured that marketing/product development will work through the problem quickly. Probably they'll recall the bad copies. If you have a bad copy, don't do anything yet. I need official word first. Thanks. Oh man ... I'll swing by Hasting's in Nacogdoches to look tonight (if they even have it). How do they miss that? I mean, I can understand the small fry crackhead press people I've worked with missing that but ... I hope it turns out to be a small amount of them. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

Yeah, my copy was blurry on the back, difficult to read where the songs were produced, and difficult to read the thanks. I just thought the blurryness was part of the graphic. Perhaps not. Hey, Boyd, when I went to Hastings to buy it, it took them an hour to find it. We found Laughing City way before Marvelous things. I am not in the least dissatisfied. I love the ep, the art is cool, only the letters blurry on the aforementioned. I am really enjoying Memories right now. Rock on, Eisley. Thanks, Boyd, for striving to provide us with quality. _________________ signed: Omygosh, Emperor of Shmo **the turtle stamp of approval** www.soulstrum.com |

Chris, huh? Unit 91? you're funny. what does that mean? were all on the shelf good ones? there are, however, many bogus ones. Chris... hi. all ok in big D? Can you make it to Tree's? Joseph. Thanks. It's way more than blurry...way more than the letters. The entire image on the front...back, all...blurry like someone used a potato stamping process to print the package. Like a 30's comic strip. We're working on the problem. Thanks. _________________ EisleyWebGuy "The industrialists never saw the fruit of their own labor - Post Moderism, which I now proclaim as dead. hmm.. i'll have to check some of the record stores around here.. tomorrow perhaps.. on the way back from english.. but you know what i'm thinking? this might make a good collectors item.. you know.. a rarity, only 4 known in the world! could you imagine?! haha anyway, i'll check the local best buy, borders etc etc, if I have time.. those are the only places that i've seen laughing city in, so i'll see I suppose.. (again, if I have time... hopefully I will.. ) hrm anyway.. perhaps you should hold onto a couple boyd.. for... you know. keepsakes.. though I know artists don't really like their work to be messed up like that... however, isn't there a japanese aesthetic that deals with accidents? there is a certain beauty in misprints (I think).. but I suppose it's all in the eye of the beholder eh? anyway.. where was this going? oh yes.. keep on truckin' _________________ "strength is just an accident arising from the weakness of others." ~Joseph Conrad --------------- |

you guys rock. hmm... it didn't occur to me in the beginning, but....when I typed the word "RECALL", I have to be honest....my CSP (collectible sensory perception) kicked in. I might go back to Hastings and grab a few...(just in case; you know...retirement or something) I did actually buy one cd so I could boost the sales - thus tricking the Label into thinking people actually like the band. hehh-hehh...sneaky idea, ehh? I don't want to waste the money though on the bogus copies. Maybe I can get the label to send us a box. heh...hehh...(sneaky) We're rehearsing tonight using Matt - Daniel Ellis's brother, who also graduated from Full Cell (sp?) with a degree in Sound and Production. We're going to use the two Ellis brothers on the Eisley Tiny Texas Tour. gotta go. bd _________________ EisleyWebGuy "The industrialists never saw the fruit of their own labor - Post Moderism, which I now proclaim as dead. WEIRD. Yeah, I checked our supply - and only 1 (ONE) copy had the offset - most noticeable by the fact that the picture on the front is blurred severely and the printing on the front has a 2-4 mm pinkish "drop shadow" on the left side of every letter. My digital camera sucks or I'd take a picture (I tried). Perhaps I will get the energy to scan it in later. I've pulled this from our supply. Whether or not we exchange it if they became recalled versus I buy it and keep it as a misprint so it will be highly valuable in 25 years is, as of yet, undecided. - but all the rest of ours seem to be OK - and look mostly like the one I picked up at the show (though mine has some writing on it what look like signatures...hmmm) Cheers. cameron _________________ Cameron aka truckpoetry.... Well, Hasting's in Nac has two copies of Laughing City. Which is better than what they had a few months ago ... but no Marvelous Things. I'll keep an eye out. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |
