But how many of you had your minds exposed to so many excellent bands through Eisley and the individuals who comprise it? Just off the top of my head I can think of The Arcade Fire, Iron and Wine, The Decemberists, Bob Dylan, Godspeed You Black Emperor and it goes on and on. And that's just from reading the postings of Stacy D. Jonathan W. and Sherri D. Now I do believe that I have my own taste in music, and I'd like to believe that I would have started listening to such great music without the influence of Eisley. But I won't deny that this band has made an incredible impact on me that I kind of don't want to admit. Even from an interview one time I heard Weston mention the Mars Volta so I went out and bought the cd. So anyway, thanks for sharing all the good tunes with me Eisley and crew! Smile

Oh, and lets not forget Ryan Adams!

If I had never discovered Eisley, my iPod would have maybe 10 songs on it. Because a lot of my favorite bands were discovered through them or people who like them.

I can credit Midlake to them. Although, I had already heard of them from the Envy Corps boys, so I may know of them anyhow... But I'll still give Eisley credit.

And Midlake is one of my favourite bands, so I'm very thankful.

Not too much directly through Eisley: Midlake, Pilotdrift, The Decemberists ... those are the main ones. However, via Eisley's community, the numbers multiply to dozens.

A lot of my favourite artists and music I have come to know through Eisley and the forums. The Decemberists, Bright Eyes, The Shins, Nellie McKay, Midlake, Iron and Wine, and the list goes on. This place has really exposed me to some great music.

having heard mention of them, i decided to see midlake in denton when i was visiting my sis a year and a half or so ago, and was pretty blown away. i tried pilotdrift and wasn't really impressed, and i gave frances the mute a second try (i think at jon's urging).

Yeah, definitely a great influence. I've checked out Mew, Iron & Wine, Pedro the Lion, and producer extraordinaire Aaron Sprinkle Smile (he isn't too shabby as a performer either).
