Three copies--the only three copies (as of day of release)--at Best Buy in Springfield, Missouri had printing errors. I noticed it first thing when I picked mine up, went back and looked through the other two, but they were all that way. I was kinda disappointed until I realized that misprints make really good collectibles. Just look at all the Star Wars packages on eBay that say "Yoad" or "Chowbacca"!

Maybe I'll be able to pay off my student loans someday, after all... Very Happy

I just got back from a Media Play here in Cincinnati, and they just had two copies of Marvelous Things left. All of their copies of Laughing City were gone, so that's a good sign, and I believe there must've been at least a handful of copies of Marvelous Things to begin with. So anyway, I bought the two remaining copies, both of which have the offset printing problems. I'll probably just keep one sealed (to pay for future college loan debts Wink), and enjoy the one that I've opened. I'm so happy to finally have it--it sounds great! Like everyone else, I can't wait (but I will... Smile) for the full-length. I know it's going to be amazing, and I wish you all the best as you get ready to work on it after the holidays.

Still here in LA. I got the official word from WB... the printer accidently
shipped the "make ready's". To everyone except the anti-rider and
maybe a few more printing buffs, that's the stack of paper it took to GET
the job in register on the press... Printers order more stock than needed,
hang the plates, start the presses and pull sheets as they're flying
through the press to look at them and find the problems to correct. 500 -
bogus make-redi sheets seem to have made it into the stack of good
ones and went into production.

Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

They're working with retailers on an individual basis. Some have already
sent their lot back in...others will do so as people complain... WB has
called most and are dealing with it. I hope all are sent back in and new
ones are replacing bogus ones. Feel free to complain to the retailer and
ask them for a refund or tell them it's a problem.

Thanks everyone for understanding. I SO hate this.

That really sucks that the bad ones got out, for the sake of people who don't realize what's going on with the printing problems. However, it's cool that everyone here is so positive about it. We all have futures to pay for! Smile All kidding aside, it sounds like everyone involved is working hard to get things straightened out, and I hope that things work out. It's amazing how many little things can be messed up when you get into the biz... Confused

So there were a total of 500 bad ones?

I happened to get one of them.

But I don't think I want to bother taking it back.

I received my copy of Marvelous Things from Amazon.ca on Dec. 24th and it has the whole 3D effect thing going..it's not extremely bad, I can still read even the smallest print inside, but it's definitely not clear.

I just picked up a copy of MT this morning at Tower Records in Cherry Hill, NJ. I'm one of the lucky 500 to get the "collectors edition". It was the last one so I couldn't tell you 'bout the others.
Don't worry Boyd, the amazing sounds inside more than makč

got cut off!
Don't worry Boyd, the amazing sounds inside more than make up for the insignificant blurs. I'm on my way back to Nashville now, and let my drummer hear it for the first time - within five minutes he had to hear it again.
Nashville's waiting for you so c'mon over.

Just FYI I was in Bangor, Maine a couple weeks ago and there were two copies of Marvelous Things at the Borders there. Both were in perfect condition, no printing problems at all.

Hmmm- so now I've got one copy of MT signed by 4/5 Eisley, and another (in shrink wrap) with printing errors of a lot of approximately 500 that exist...hmmm....now if only I had something more collectible, like used Eisley guitars (I'll take the Rickenbacker), or the offspring of their dog...hmmm....

collect on.

I ordered 3 copies from Amazon.com and 2 were ok, 1 was blurry. I sent the blurry one back. Not because it was blurry, but actually one of the jackets, upon opening, was empty! No CD inside! So I returned it,and sent the blurry jacket back, since I'd rather have the nicer one!
