dial r for revenge
Golly, Poster

i believe it's a wurlitzer funmaker. from what i remember, boyd once told a story about how they got it for free from a church who didn't use it anymore. i'll try and find a decent photo so you can get a good look at it.

wasn't it that they were promised food and stuff but never got it, so the church gave them the organ...? or something. I don't remember.

As I recall, they were playing a venue that promised food and money but delivered neither, and as the evening drew to a close these little old ladies came to evict the venue's owners. Stacy and Sherri saw the Wurly backstage and asked the ladies about it; they gave it to them for free. Inside was a weird promotional tape for ibuprofen, which was used for the intro of the Independent Recordings version of "Over the Mountains."

It's a Wurlitzer Funmaker, model 415.

And if you have one, I need it so I can chop it up and make it suitable for Stacy to tour with.

(I'm not kidding. Her and I have had this dicussion, we're just lacking a second model 415 organ cause we can't very well chop up hers. As Boyd once said, "That would be like chopping the legs off a unicorn.")

sad to say, i believe my wurlitzer was from the eighties but it was worth every penny. i picked it up today, but if it was a funmaker i would most definitely let stacy have it...even if it was to be torn to pieces..cause well, she's stacy.

This is probably the one you saw on google. A 1975 version:

Think Stacy's looks different from this, though.
