You can't fill your movie with just product placements. It always pays to have a hot, upcoming band that may or may not sell DVDs for you. Couldn't hurt. Excellent marketing on their part. And when Eisley is a household name, they will be selling copies of this otherwise lame movie 5 or 10 years from now. The WB, Fox and UPN all have used upcoming bands to try to get a following for their teen-early 20's demographic shows (Dawson's Creek comes to mind). |

but i'm still curious as to how exactly the placement worked - was it completely under the record company's jursidiction or was eisley consulted at all? the movie industry should make it a new meme amongst themselves... every director has to have eisley playing in the background in at least one of their films. all the 'cool' directors, anyway...
