In another thread about the Final Noise release, someone mentioned that it was based off of the book "Ice People." I never read the book and actually I'm kinda curious. who is it by?

Found it:http://www.eisley.com/laughingcity/viewtopic.php?t=22217&postdays=0 &postorder=asc&highlight=final+noise&start=15

writing songs inspired by books is kind of common. Nirvana's "scentless apprentice" was inspired by a book.

i mean this in the nicest way possible, but i don't really understand why you're confused.

why write a song about anything?

whatever inspires you to write.

i'm not trying to gang up on you, it's just that a lot if things are based off of other things, you know what i mean?

I just got The Ice People in the mail from Amazon.

It's by Magie Gee.

By the way, for future reference, long work titles (books, movies, newspapers, magazines) are underlined/italicized. Short work titles (songs, articles, short stories) use quotation marks.

Oh, dang. It probably looked like I was trying to hate on patrock, but I wasn't. Actually, I didn't even notice the "Invasion" thing, I saw the person who put The Ice People in quotes. Pffft, sorry. Laughing

..I am not so sure what you're confused about.
Are any of Eisley's songs easy to interpret?
If you're confused about the escaping song why aren't you confused about bats with butterfly wings or war-horses wearing rubberbands?
I mean what the heck is that all about?! ( Wink )

And I think the band is often inspired by books they read. They are avid sci-fi/fantasy fans.

art is what you make of it, regardless of what inspired it, it is you who weaves the meaning from it
