The problem a lot of people are having with it playing back is probably due to being forced to stream. It would be a lot easier if it was hosted on a simple http server instead of mms or nonstandard rtsp, that way anyone could save it and play it back from the local system. That being said, I was finally able to get the WMV files locally. Unfortunately, they only go up to 450 kbps bitrate, whereas the quicktime files hosted on the apparently nonstandard RTSP server goes up to 700 kbps and is really pretty when I can get it to play. I haven't yet been able to get the RTSP server to like me though. I will, however, be happy to provide the WMV files, or a version transcoded to standard MPEG2 or MPEG4 to anyone, provided someone with Authority gives me the okay. In the meantime, I'll keep working on getting the RTSP server to work reliably from the client end. _________________ God is a place you will wait for the rest of your life |

Well, thanks for the nomination, anyways... I am a gigantor fan, and don't miss a show, but a busy lady as well with 3 little ones, which affords me little time for online chatting. Though you all sound like perfectly lovely people to me. And I'm sure I've seen you around at shows and just never knew who anyone was and never said hello. Most of the time I've either been pregnant or carrying a child with me, so I tend to stand out in the crowd. I think I've only ever been to two or three shows without a kid in tow, in one form or fashion! Jamie |
