i was just wondering if you were a fan of Brian Froud, because the Dark Crystal is like my favorite movie ever, and your illustrations on the Ep's strike me in a similar vein as certain Froudian sketchles ... just curious _________________ yellow crazy ants: GOOOOO!!! |

i just got the DVD for christmas, and there's this old grainy documentary featurette from the 80's that talks about how they basically designed an entirely different world with different rules for what "life" is (the plants are autolocomotory, the rocks grow like plants, etc.), knowing that the audience would only see the parts relevant to the story ... man, the dark crystal freaked me out when i was little. i mean, up to that point, i had always thought that muppets were cute and always nice, but these scared me like no other, then you mix in a weirded out david bowie and you get one freaked out little kid. |
