For all you who have seen Eisley live in concert, do they sound like they do on their cd? or is it a drastic difference?

They sound better live. I don't really know how to explain it but they make it sound perfect.

I would've explained it but I'm not very good at that kind of thing.

Very Happy

Room Noises is nice and all, but it doesn't come close to Eisley live.

the short answer is no

the long answer involves tears of laughter as my mind tries to compare the two sounds and scoffs at Room Noises' exceptional impotence by comparison

Yep, they are just that much better live.

Eisley live pretty much just rocks...hard, and still sounds all fanciful and dreamy, it's crazy

Eisley sounds much heavier live with more punch. They are more soft and delicate on the record.

Maybe that's just cuz you have a 10 ft. stack of speakers next to your ear.

It IS crazy. They rock hard as they perform with tons of emotion/energy without being overbearing/trying/showy with it. Engery you feel...However, like Jon said it maintains its same "dreamy" spirit.

So the question was if they sound the same as they do on their CD...Actually, I'd say yes, as the arrangement for most of the songs are similar and they perform them awesomely. However, imagine that CD being played on a player hooked up to a super surround sound speaker system with the "live" special effect activated. Then u might get *slightly* close Wink

I enjoyed Eisley live much more than studio/produced.

That's a good way to put it. A lot of people I've talked to said they like the Cd better. But they didn't listen to Eisley anymore than casually before they saw them live so... Yeah they just sound a little rougher but not in a bad way. It's just like any band. And it also depends on the venue and the sound people, a bad mix can make a good live band sound bad.

When you see some bands live, you're disappointed because you realize it was the studio making them sound good, but Eisley is just the opposite. You realize that they have a natural talent and don't need the studio to make them sound good. Check out some live videos if you want to see the difference. That one of Golly Sandra under the videos section here is a good one because the audio is very clear. When you see them live, you'll notice there's a lot more distortion in the guitars and the bass is really strong... it makes them sound heavier and more raw. Cool

This video is a good example of that:
