Wow, I would never be able to tolerate my big toe being strangled like that.

But that's the whole point of wearing flip-flops. It's the mechanism that allows people who hate shoes to avoid the no shoelessness rule at certain places: school, restaurants, 711, etc.
I, for one, love being able to put my shoes on and off by one swing of a foot.

it has nothing to do with being in style or out of style, but lots and lots of people just dress like crap.

and it's not like they couldn't create perfectly normal and acceptable outfits with the same amount of money and energy they put into looking like a fool.

they just don't.

sometimes i feel like my whole life is one long episode of what not to wear, if that show were hosted by a deaf mute who couldn't tell people how stupid they looked.

I wear what's comfortable to me, which pretty much amounts to a hoodie, jeans, some tee, and sneakers or sandals; what the clothes look like matters little, as long as they're clean. I personally find flip flops very comfortable shoes, and I wear them if the weather permits.

Like pretty much what everybody has said already, I wear what I want to wear. I don't pay attention to what's "in style" and, personally, could really care less about what other people think looks good. I'm the one who has to wear the clothes so I will pick them out. I tend to pick older pieces and mix them up with some unusual jewlery and flats or chucks. That's just what I like. I have a Jim Morrison shirt that I've had since 9th grade that I wear with EVERYTHING.

BTW, I live in Florida. Sandals are a nessicity. Especially with temps in the upper 90s. But never with socks. And I like paisley, and polka dots.

Normaly I Wear Converse. I Have Flip Flops On Right Now. But I Only Have Two Pairs Of Shoes. Pink Old Navy Flip Flops. And Black Low Rise Converse. And Thats All. As For Clothes, I Can't Find Much That Fits Me Right So I Stick With The Basics. Some Old T-Shirt And Some Nearly Too Short Jeans. Laughing

comfort is the most important thing for me when regarding clothing.

in a close second is making sure the article of clothing isn't too obnoxious. i hate shirts with big graphics and such.

Some places won't allow barefooted-ness (ie. grocery stores) so I go for next to best; flip-flops.

Fashion is all subjective.
Perhaps what you wear is stupid and ugly to me.
I usually shop at thrift stores, but my wardrobe is mainly Abercrombie.
I wear flip-flops, dirty tennis shoes.. and not Converse.
Why?
Because, I don't condone with child labor (which is the means Converse uses to make their shoes).I wore Converse when I was like.. 5, and I have the pictures to prove it.
They were popular then, and now they've come back.
I don't follow crowds or trends, and I'll wear whatever I damn please.
Wether anyone likes it or not, is their problem.

PS- I've yet to hear complaints about my attire, other than my shirts being a little tight.
But, I'm told I dress quite nicely... without following any trend.
Oh, and my toes are actually quite pretty, I'll post a picture if I must prove it.

Edited: Fixed spelling, for you people that like to pry.

this is funny... because the last time I checked, Abercrombie & Fitch was one of the top companies exploiting the use of child labor.
so you might want to check yourself on that one.
p.s. you're also paying money to advertise for them. everything they sell has their name showing on the outside of it, even if it's small.

back to the topic... i love flip flops. they're all I wear unless it's cold. i don't think i ever saw anyone in college who wasn't wearing them. but i am from texas where it's hot as hell all the time. my toes are always pedicured though so i don't have to worry about people thinking they're ugly. a guy did once walk by me at the airport and told me I had such pretty feet... slightly weird but a compliment none the less.

oh, and i don't really care what people wear. to each his own.
