yeah I did something similar to that in photoshop...but I did the Aha video for "take on me" effect...

so you did that on a paintshop program? photoshop, mmhm used the pen tool, which ...takes a while to master, but after two hours you get the hang of it i've always wanted to learn how to use it, so i finally sat down and force-taught myself.
