 Post subject: (EDIT) OGG Banner Poll!Posted: Thu Sep 07, 2006 8:07 am 
Chad and I are working on putting together a custom theme for the gallery. I need help deciding on which one to use. If you have an idea as to how I could tweak them to make it better don't hold back. PLEASE VOTE! 
EDIT: I decided to use this one: Larger size

I voted for #2 because you can see their faces. What about using that picture where they all look happy? i keep having to tell people that the point of the banner isn't to see their faces. it's just to have them as background. i looked for photos where they looked happier but they were all to small. |

Nora, you shouldn't ask for opinions/help then give people grief for doing so. I thought the same thing #2 because the image of the band was clearer _________________

That's a really hard choice. Both work color wise because the lettering behind "Orange Gold & Green" on the front page is gray, and so are the links when you scroll over them; however, the banners at the top of the rest of the pages is dark brown. The letters on the gray one are more exciting, but you can see the band's faces better on the brown one. Basically, whichever one you choose will be great. But I picked the gray one. |

oh mer, chad and i were thinking of a way to either move the navigation to the new banner and remove the black one. or move the black banner to the bottom of the page. we're still thinking on that. |

I don't really like the second one because I don't think the maroon maches very well. But like everyone said, their faces are blocked in the first one. I like the photo and the placement of the text best on the second banner, but the colors just don't seem to work on either one for me. Overall I like the second one but I like the first picture better. I think? But I can see with that picture the placement of the lettering being akward almost everywhere, where it fits for the second one. As a whole, I like the second one. |

Yeah...I am thinking something that isn't as opaque...even if you made the photo a golden yellow (since you were experimenting with a more monochromatic idea, it should have more contrast in it..that would result in everything balancing out better. i do have versions of both banners with translucent text. but, maybe i'll try out the black and white.
