hey Unregistered, were you at the Silverleaf show ?!? Yes, it was incredibly awesome....i'm pretty sure it was the last time they played "Lullabye" live.... plus it was the first night i met Boyd and most of the band....and Midlake opened for them....seems so long ago...hard to believe it was not even a year ago! They had already abandoned the "Neverland" name, but the ads were already made in advance, so they were billed as such. It's cool you found that calendar! |

hi, yes. It was a very very nice grandtastic show.. my second eisley show too (first one was coldplay). First time to see/hear Midlake! It does seem like so long ago. I remember meeting boyd and part of the band for the first time and kris and KeyboardPlayer and Andrew. I also remember meeting this guy named Noly.. I'm not sure on the spelling. He decided to stand in the very front/center and I followed.. like inches from that short stage.. it was amazing and terrifying all at once.. haha i wont forget that. He was kind and offered to let me stay over night at his place instead of driving back.. but I made it safely back that night. I didnt realise they played Lullabye.. i wish I could remember. I took that calendar screenshot when I determined i was going to go.. for a memory of sorts. _________________ "Commit to the Lord whatever you do and your plans will succeed." prov 16:3 |

yes....the VFest date is an important one....first main stage performance at a gigantic festival. VFest is also the first time they played outside of US/Canada. some other important dates could be: cornerstone festival 2002 (the beginnings of getting signed) during the coldplay tour, playing at Hollywood Bowl, Red Rocks, and Madison Square Garden, 3 of the most famous places you could possibly play! another date for the timeline could be the date that Stacy started playing rhodes/keyboard. Those are a relatively new addition, i believe they've only been there since maybe 2001? more questions for the band to answer. also, the first concert they played calling themselves only "Eisely" is the Club Clearview concert in March 8 2003....there is a bootleg of that show and Sherri comments in the beginning about how it is weird to call themselves only "Eisley without the Moss". |

My first experience with Eisley (then called MossEisley) started on December 8, 2001, where they played in the Howe, TX middleschool cafetorium. This was open to the general public, posters were put up everywhere, but turnout was extreemly low. From these pictures... http://bartman.topcities.com/events2001/mosseisley.htm you can see a couple people there sitting at a table. Other than my own family, there was one other family that showed up, and one more individual. Not to be daunted by the bad turnout, I knew they were destined for greatness, and made a second booking, this time for a captive audience who was already going to be there. This was in Trenton, TX, where a youth group was having a lock-in party, and they were going to start it off with a concert, so I told the youth director he should get MossEisley, and after they get big, the kids will be able to say yeah, we saw them back before they were famous. Pictures from this February 23, 2002 concert can be seen here... http://bartman.topcities.com/events2002/mosseisley2.htm This was in the Trenton high school gym, and the youth group size was about 20 people (small church), and plus about 15 other adult people (youth group sponsors, parents, etc.). Then on August 17, 2002, once again back at the Howe, TX middle school cafetorium, another concert with a small turnout, but not as bad as the first one. There was about 10-15 people, including a couple reporters from North Texas e-News who did an article in their online newspaper. I posted some pictures the reporters took here... http://bartman.topcities.com/events2002/mosseisley3.htm This concert was right before their big publicity explosion when record company scouts began pounding on their door. Every time I think about it, this is such an amazing story, how a band works and works, traveling 100 miles or more and asking for barely enough money to cover their travel expenses (I always gave them a little extra, they were so deserving of more), then finally getting the big break. But still, the best part of the story is that even after the big break they continue to keep it real and never prideful or beyond approachability. _________________ This space intentionally left blank. |
