So ... those who have been around a while might remember this little project I put together a few years ago (early 2004) called The E-Zine. It was what it probably sounds like: An Eisley fanzine.

The E-Zine featured photos of the band, photos with the band and stories of shows and inspiration, etc. It was all contributed by fans (mostly from here), and it was quite a lot of fun to do, to be honest.

Anyway, plans for a second issue kind of fell apart as work got too demanding, and it was too hard to handle the workload required to do such an undertaking.

Well, after a kind prod from a reader of this original zine, I have decided to ask if Laughing Citizens would still be interested in such a thing.

Here are a couple of shots of the origianl zine:

And just a glimpse at the work that goes into such a thing:

For the last details ... it was a handful of photocopied legal-zied pages folded in half (I think the final page count was almost 40?), stapled and filled with fan contributions. I charged $3 (almost exactly cost+shipping) and sent them all around the world. It was lo-fi fanmade goodness. Or that's how I remember it ...

So, if you're interested ... and also interested in contributing, let me know!

(And as a final note, the band gave their blessing to this idea at the time. But I'll make sure it's still cool with them before doing anything else.)

I'd buy one as well. I'm lacking in the photo journalism area, but I'd love to read and own one. Heck I wouldn't mind having an original too.

I would love to help out, but I have nothing to offer as of pictures or content haha. But I have made a few zines in my day. I have an issue of the original in my zine collection, it was really well done.

Oh, heck yes!

And thanks everyone! It looks like the 'Zine is on its way to coming back. Smile

So is anyone else looking to contribute? Ideas are welcome, too. I want things that are interactive, where people can share things that aren't necessarily more than personal accounts or thoughts on a song, etc.

I'll take a more formal approach soon, unless the tide turns against this. ha. But I'm still giving the original quesiton a little more time.

You should have a poll/questionnaire with the "would you rather" game.
