Not technically. It's just more fun to join in, and to bring in new people. Keeps things from getting stale. heh.

I've been a member of Laughing City since I was in the 9th grade...which was four years ago. I post every once in a while, but mostly I just read - which is largely because I'm embarassed by my stupid username. It was my 9th-grade self trying desparately to sound cool, not realizing that it sounded an awful lot like a poor misinterpretation of a band (whose music I can't say I've ever actually listened to on purpose).

And that is my story.

Edit: I just read, in the handy little box beneath my comment, that I've been a member since September of 2004. Which really makes it three years and not four, but close enough.

Don't not post because of your name! I don't even read names most of the times ... it's just a shape that reminds me who is posting. hah. My name is after this cheesy old BMX bike trick. Not even one of the cool tricks! You're cool, don't worry about it. Post! Smile

Well, if it stays within the rules, and you're not just trying to start something or say something to be mean or disrespectful, I guess that's the problem of the people who would be bothered.

Lost at Forum

I feel like I am a semi-lurker.
I have posted a fair-share but in very spread-out spurts.
I check the forum almost every day though...
But I don't have a name for myself here, like other mega-posters do.

In general, I love the laughing city, and find it to be one of the more enjoyable forums I've ever visited. But yall do get a little ridiculous at times... Too prone to getting into silly little arguments. (although everyone is admittedly more civil here, than on many other band-forums on the net) hehe.

Megaposter shcmegaposter! You don't have to have a lot of posts. So don't worry about that! Staying out of the arguments is a good idea, too. ha. I pay attention to you. Maybe you can drop into chat a bit? It helps socialize. And we need people in there. Smile

i kind of lurked for a couple of months because i was unsure of registering.

i thought, "Am I still too young to join?"
"Will I be ridiculed just because i'm a newbie?"
or the worst.. "What if I joined, and then just never came on?"

and it does seem sort of intimidating, but i just threw caution the the wind and finally joined.

Very Happy

never have time to step and
wander through; they just fly by
again and again; another and another.
until they've passed and we're where
we're supposed to be. but i would rather
be there, back in the forests we passed
with our eyes. just a blur.
a green wall, but there's magic behind,
if only we could ever stop.
someday I'll stop, and the forest can
enjoy my company.

Aw, don't be intimidated. Immaturity is disliked far more than age here. I know some very mature young people, and very immature older people. ha. I'm glad you decided to join in! Smile
