Gaaaahh. I had a blast.
Arriving a few hours early, I found a group of friends ahead of me in line, one of whom ended up being okay cace face. She and her posse were cool. They saved my spot in line when I had to run back to my hotel for my forgotten ticket, and Casey rescued an orphan sausage that someone threw out their window, putting it in a trash can. We all got right up to the front of the stage at showtime. I still haven't perfected the subtle art of taking good pictures, but they turned out better than last time I saw Eisey. Wesley Jenson and Christie sounded lovely:
The Eisley performance was excellent. It was exactly what I needed to really pump me up for the album release. All the new songs were sounding killer, despite a brief bass blowout near the beginning of the set.
I also accidentally took a super-brief video of Stacy, when I was trying to take a picture. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v714/doomsoldier/?action=view¤ t=AccidentalStacy.flv During the show, Sherri mentioned that they were probably going to go back to this little coffee place afterwards, and that anyone who wanted to could come along. Since I had nothing to do but go back to my hotel, I asked Christie after the show if they seriously wouldn't mind me going, and she said no. So myself and a couple other folks walked with the band to this cool little place a few blocks away. Weston and Garron went off to a McDonalds instead, 'cause they were hungry, so I didn't really get to talk with them, but I was chatting with Chauntelle for like, half an hour, and then with Boyd for a while. It was surreal. I recommended House Of Leaves to Stacy. The girls all signed my MarvThings EP, and Wesley and Christie signed a copy of Pirates and Cowboys for me. It was just really, really cool. As pretty much everyone who meets them says, they're super personable. Easy to talk to.
My ticket, signed albums, and a Canadian penny one of Casey's friends gave me when they found out I was from Canada. Shirts:
Varsity Theater marks.
Feet relaxing after all that standing. I had a lot of fun. Can't wait to see them again on the Combinations headlining tour. _________________
