lol.
I tried so hard at two of them and failed both times.
The first one was when i moved to Killeen Texas when i was in the 10th grade.
the secound time is when my ex-girlfriend moved to chicago.
the we started seeing other people and she married the person she was seeing.

long distance relationships are stupid because you need to be in close contact with someone to be in a relationship.

Yeah seriously! I love Mer and other forum peeps. Best friends I've had in a while. And we all live so far away.

I'm going to say relationships don't work in general.

This thread reminds me of the John Donne poem 'A Valediction: Forbidding Mourning'.

It really depends on the dedication of both people to making it work. It's hard.

Obviously the long distance part would need to have trips to see each other here and there, and it couldn't go as long distance forever (at some point someone will have to move). But with modern communication devices, it certainly can be maintained over the course of a short duration (such as the 1 1/2 years I did with my college girlfriend who is now my wife).

yeah, I'll admit that if I hadn't been able to see robert about every 2 or 3 months it would've been even worse. Skype was a lifesaver though.
