So has anyone here actually heard any of the songs that were "stolen"?
I'm probably one of the only ones here that haven't I'm guessing. Not that I wouldn't want to though.

There was a similar issue with some tracks from the Innocence Mission that got leaked out. They were really old demos. But for historic reference they were really priceless. The band didn't particular like that they were made public, but they've come to accept it and have moved on. And I'd say good portion of them are truly amazing. I certainly couldn't see why they were cut from the album.

I read your posts all the time, and they're about as far from PC as one can be.

Political correctness can get in the way of the artistic merit of language. Saying 'to each his or her own', while completely correct, it sounds clunky and effectively ruins this common phrase. Personally, I don't think many women would be offended by this save for the ultra feminist types (not feminist in terms of financial and social equality, but in terms of pointless semantics such as these).

While gender-neutral language does awkwardify a lot of phrases, I still think it's important. It doesn't offend me, but that doesn't mean it's not a consideration when speaking or writing.

Lots of people have, and I'm pretty sure you're not in the minority. People have to go out of their way to get those tracks. Most don't care to make the effort.

Are they on P2P programs at all? The only way I've heard of them getting passed around is through thing's like AIM file transfers and email.

I use Ares every now and then to see if I can't dig up live tracks from various bands, and I've seen Lady Get Away, the Baby version of Invasion and ICBTFY and Marsh King's Daughter show up in searches. I've never seen them on SoulSeek, and I wouldn't know about something like Limewire or whatever.

nah, Limewire doesn't have any of that stuff. it does have one called Lullaby, though, which I have not otherwise heard of (probably because I am not a very knowledgable admirer, mostly). and it's just got some other old stuff.

...I haven't heard any of the 'stolen'/'illegal' songs... I'm tempted to, but don't want to.... I'm just torn... But I think if the band thinks it's good then they'll probably release it... Someone mentioned an earlier version of Invasion, ICBTFY, and March King's Daughter are around? And two of them are released and the third is a giveaway... so maybe there's a chance that the others will eventually see the light of day?

Please someone tell me I'm right. Please.

Actually, I have both versions of Marsh King's Daughter. The demo version is slower and much more muffled, but it's still just as good. As well is Lady Get Away, but apparently there is no 'final release' of that. Which makes me quite sad, haha.

I downloaded a vid off of SYP called Malibu1b.mov. What is the song that is playing at the first as they arrive at the Malibu studio and plays in the background throughout the vid? It's got a metronome click track going with it. Is that Lady Get Away or Wings and Windows or what?

hey.... (to last comment): that was just some little garage band Sherri song that i tossed in as for background flavor. It's called "Hummingbirds" and... I don't know what era or where it's from... I thought it leaked or something already. who knows. but it's nothing from this record. thanks.
