question. i have only seen eisley once in concert, about a year ago. i have all three EPs. from this background i had assumed sherri sang all the lead vocals, and stacy sang the bgvs. but recent posts have made me think that stacy must sing lead as well, maybe on some of the newer unrecorded songs? or maybe the songs i have heard that i thought were all sherri are also stacy? i can imagine that as sisters their voices would sound pretty similar. anyway, just wondering what songs stacy sings lead on. _________________ http://apturnofftheradio.blogspot.com |

Hey. They both share about equal load on lead vox's and on bckgrnd vox's. examples: Over the Mountains Verses - Stacy ("with lightbulbs in our pockets...ooh ahh ahh ahhh, we light the darkened forest" Chorus - Both - "...ooohh ooohh ah, ah ah ahhhhh..." Bridge - Sherri (solo) "tripping through the misty streams of light, so beautiful, I stare in awe..." Mr Pine Verses - Stacy Chorus - both girls overlap (Sherri sings "soft hushed breath...it goes in and out", while Stacy sings "ahhh") Bridge - Stacy (solo) I Wasn't Prepared Verses - Sherri Chorus - Sherri (Stacy harmony) Bridge - Sherri optional song on the tour: (mainly played for first 1/2 tour) Laughing City Verses - Sherri Chorus - Sherri (Stacy sings overlapping, "...that is where you'll find me..." Marvelous Things Stacy - all verses Chorus - Sherri, Stacy background Bridge - Stacy. They All Surrounded Me Verses - Stacy Chorus - Stacy (Sherri harmony) Bridge - Stacy Tree Tops Versus - Sherri Chorus - Stacy (Sherri harmony) Bridge - Sherri (solo) "butter warm clouds dripping into my mouth..tasting of Golden" So, anyway, you can see how equal the weight is upon both sisters. You can see how this makes it tough for the guy mixing the band. How does he know who's singing, when...and sometimes, they invert during a chorus... one's lead, the other harmony on first phrase, then switch. weird. That's why we have to have a better than average soundguy. it's all ear. hope that helps.
