yesssss, i can now move her at will. it depends on whether you think the leg is going in front of or behind the other one.

wrong. because she's in sillhouette, we can't see whether she's facing us, or facing away from us, and so we can't tell which leg is the "right" or "left", and our mind is forced to fill in the blanks on it's own! that's the secret of the optical illusion! she doesn't even rotate, she turns from one side of the screen to the other!

i don't think it has anything to do with right brain / left brain, though — and isn't the whole right brain / left brain thing bull $#@! anyways?

I asked my sister come in and watch it with me, and every time I thought the direction of rotation switched, so did she. If it was just something to do with the mind, why would we see it the same?

how come people can change it at will?

most likely, when you told her the direction changed, her mind was influenced to see it the same way you did, and vice-versa.

i don't know what's up with this thing, but i'm looking at it right now from these two different sources-

http://www.news.com.au/perthnow/story/0,21598,22492511-5005375,00.html

http://www.twodorks.com/junk/20071018-rightleftbrain.shtml

and one is moving one way, and the other in the opposite.

EDIT: ok now they're both going the same way, now they're going the same way but the other way.

i hate this biotch

It's like an optical illusion. At first I see it going clock wise then you focus long enough and it goes counter clock wise. It that's pretty cool.

It helps if you turn and tilt your head and body to get the girl to spin the other way. Imagine switching directions on a skateboard, hour body and head would mirror. Turn your head so you can see the bridge of your nose in one eye or the other.

Also try bending your arm and leg on one side and pull them upwards into your body, and extend your other arm and leg as if you were in middle of a walking stride, then switching sides.

I honestly think that anybody who sees anything other than clockwise is crazy.

Honestly... just look at her. When her right leg comes forward it creates a shadow at the bottom of the screen, making that obviously her right leg. In no way is it possible for her to be moving counter-clockwise.

EDIT: HOLY CRAP SHE'S GOING THE OTHER WAY WHAT THE HECK!

She was going Clockwise at first, then I got close to the screen and she started going counterclockwise.
