I still suggest the Vans. I'm really awesome and have quite the collection of old-skool style vans, both slip-on and tie form. Go for whichever fits best. brands differ quite a bit in terms of fitting, and your feet will thank you in the long run. I spent about an hour in a cycling shop trying on some cycling shoes. By "some" i mean we probably had about half the stock down. None of them fitted. I eventually found a pair, and they're absolutely wonderful.
