hi! I'm erin, I'm 15, almost 16, and a pretty new eisley fan. someone mentioned them at a music sharing blog and for some reason the name stuck and I checked em out on itunes. decided I didn't like them, but then downloaded 'room noises' a little later on a whim and fell in love. soo let's see. I love art and plan on being an illustrator of some sort when I grow up. I'm really into video games too, rpg are my favorite, and then all kinds of music. I play trombone, violin, and a bit of guitar, piano, recorder, french horn, all that jazz. my favorite thing about eisley is how down to earth and interesting they are, they're just regular people who happen to be incredibly talented. |

Hi everyone, I'm Amy. I'm a 19-year-old college student living in Maryland, and I've been an Eisley fan for about three years now. I first saw them at a show in Washington, D.C., opening for New Found Glory (it was March 2005, I believe). I was expecting the typical pop-punk openers, but I walked into the club and these beautiful, unfamiliar sounds filled my ears. Being voice-obsessed, the vocal harmonies were what first caught my attention. The talented people on stage introduced themselves as Eisley, and I looked them up online as soon as I got home. Not long after, I purchased Room Noises and fell in love with Eisley's music for good. I can't pick a favorite Eisley song, but the top five for me right now would probably be "One Day I Slowly Floated Away", "Ten Cent Blues", "Sun Feet", "Many Funerals", and "Like The Actors'. I don't normally spend a lot of time on band websites, but I decided to check out eisley.com again around the release of Combinations, and I fell in love with it. I love reading the journals and seeing all the photos... it's so refreshing to see a band who cares so much about connecting with their fans. So, eventually, I wandered over to Laughing City and felt like perhaps I'd like to join in on the conversation. I registered this account, and voila, here I am. That was probably way too much information, but I have a bit of a problem with being verbose. Sorry. Anyway, what else is there to tell? I'm big on music in general. I love to sing, write song lyrics, and play guitar. I like to entertain the thought of doing something serious with music someday, but for now I'm doing the college thing. I recently transferred to Towson University in my home state of Maryland, and I'll be starting my first semester there on Monday. My intended major is education. I'm a pretty tame person-- I like reading, hanging out in coffeehouses with friends, watching good TV shows, watching movies... this is beginning to sound like a personal ad. Oops. Again with the words. So many words. Heh. Anyway, I am very excited to get to know some of y'all better and become more familiar with this lovely community you have here. |

Howdy, Erin and Amy! Welcome to the forum. Amy: I was at that show! I didn't actually see it, but I was outside the club after. ha ha. I saw them after that in Balitmore, at the Ottobar. I was paying a visit to the Maryland/D.C. area. Anyway, if you or anyone else (Erin, for example!) want to jump in the AIM chatroom, usually in the late-evenings, it can be a fast way of getting to know a lot of people. It worked for Naomi (who posted before you two), and it's a ton of fun. Just invite yourself to AIM chatroom Laughing City If you need any more help, or just want to say hi, say hi to me on AIM. I'm TheAntrider ... and I'll be glad to chat or help out. Enjoy the LC, and make yourselves at home! _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

ello puppets. well my name is sommer, like the season. except not really. i just moved in here. i'm 17. ive been listening eisley for aboat (and yes i meant to spell it like that) a year and a half now. and their entire essence as a band, as individuals, as artists of breathtaking melodies and harmonies, and everything in between, while also being some of the most real and genuine and down to earth people alive, has completely astounded me. they are spell casters... most unfortunately...i havent gotten to see them live yet. i know, i am quite the depriven. (is that a word...) you can point and laugh now. its ok. i think that people are wonderful things. thats all for now. _________________ "i hate quotations. tell me what you know" -ralph waldo emerson |

hi everyone, i'm Ben from Malaysia, 25, studying medicine in my country, final year, stressed out time so Eisley's really a serendipitious experience for me personally. i have to say, this is my 1st time joining a band's forum, never done it before so if i start gushing like an idiot you'll have to excuse me. this is also the first time i've been so intimate with a band, you know really get to know the members, check out their blog, i 1st got to know about eisley by clicking on i think a Yahoo ad for their Combinations CD (which i also recently acquired), watching their vids on Youtube consolidated my interest in Eisley. i think Sherri and Stacey has got amazing voices, awesome harmonies, fav song is Golly Sandra, helps me to relax after a hectic day. i've tried to do my part as a supporter by telling my friends about this fantastic band. currently i'm also listening to Feist, KMFDM, Maximum The Hormone from japan and Portishead. Eisley was never aired over our local radio stations, i guess it's up to their label, if they could send the radio stations a copy of Combinations play Invasion over and over again, i'm sure the general population of Malaysia would fall head over heels for them, then Eisley wouldn't have any problem coming here to perform and i can finally get to meet them in person, talk about secondary gain! anyway, time to end this rant, real happy to be here and my regards to the DuPree family and everyone else in the forum. |

My name is Angela Castillo, I have been listening to Eisley for about two years now. I think the reason I love the band so much is because I am a writer myself, and often I hear songs that express so much what I am thinking, or what I am trying to put into words. I can't even listen to "Brightly Wound" it so expresses my childhood, it makes me cry every time. I dearly love the new album and listen to it almost every time I'm in the car. The only reason I missed the tour when they where in Austin was because it was my anniversary, but I will never miss it again! Please come back! |

Hi everyone My name is Isadora, and I'm about to turn 17 :] I'm from Brazil (is anyone here from Brazil too?) and I just found out about the forum. I've known Eisley for a year now and I wish I could see them in a show! Why we, from the south of the world, suffer so much? I WANT EISLEY IN BRAZIL! Anyway, I'm just another christian teenager, trying to figure things out while listen to Eisley and dreaming with Narnia listening to 'trolley wood'. Sorry if I wrote something wrong, GBY all _________________

I don't imagine anyone will read this, considering it's on page, like 300, but here goes: My name's David, I live in Rochester, VT, I'm 17. I heard "Combinations" while listening to Bright Eyes' similar artists on Last.fm, and I fell in love instantly. |
