Those are nice. I like the ones of Chauntelle the best and that one of Garron. You should email them into SYP (strangeyellowpatternsgallery@gmail.com). Smile

Fixed. Thanks for that, I for some reason thought it had to do with my link.

Great photos! I agree, the close-up of Chauntelle is awesome. Just curious, does anyone use a flash when shooting concert photos, or is that a big no-no... ? We're going to the Detroit concert, and I'd like to get some Eisley shots with my digital camera (it's a nice Minolta with a zoom, but not an SLR..)

I don't think people with photo passes that are in front of the barricade taking pictures are allowed to use flash... but a lot of people in the crowd taking pictures use flash and I've never seen anyone get in trouble for it. *shrugs*

Good Pictures,

I could have used the shot of the set list in my review, but oh well... at least now I know the definitive order.

As for flashes, if the stage lighting is good you won't need a flash. It also pays to switch the lighting setting on the camera, as the indoor, fluorescent and high lighting settings can sometimes produce cool effects. But you photographers out there probably already know all these tricks.

Personally, a good high speed film in a real camera for action shots, or really slow speed to get the maximum exposure (and usually motion blur if there's alot going on) is the way to go.

Yeah, concert photography is best without a flash. If photography is allowed, often flash is not. But so many people have those little digital cameras and pop throughout the show that it hardly matters. Also, if the stage lights are worth anything, the band is blind and can't even see your flashing anyway. ha.

Oh yeah, cool pointers, Wil. I crank my camera's ISO all the way up have "fast" lenses ... but that all goes out the window if the lights are amazing. Actually, Dan and Sam (and all others interested) should check out this thread on the topic:

But to answer the initial question: No restrictions on flash that I know of, but like it has been said, avoiding flash often leads to better photos.

Oh yes, I try to see them every time they come around. This tour was #4, which isn't anything compared to you Texans, but it's a start. Thanks for the comment about the artwork too Smile
