okay, i'm really starting to feel embarrased now.. i knew obviously that Eisley were a family-based band, but i had no idea that the community was this tight. I had no idea that their mother would come on a message board and post. These last few posts from me started off about the album covers, but now they've become a rather steep learning curve for me regarding the band. i think it's great that you lot are so close knit. I'm a total new fan when it comes to Eisley. I streamed a couple of things online and they made me feel something i hadn't felt from a band in about half a year, which is great cos this feeling has only come before with the really special bands. I think is brilliant that their family is completely behind them, and I hope that my comments didn't actually offend anybody, which they probably did. I should have really thought that the band's artistic vision would be applied to the sleeve due to the fact that they seem so entwined in the idea of an artistic pursuit. anyway, thanks for welcoming me to the Eisley fanbase. it's good that you are the open minded types. By the way, I may be way off mark here, but (and i may come in for some criticism for my taste here) have Eisley ever had any contact with Flickerstick, as both are from Texas (yes i know it's a big place and i'm just a naiive englishman)? It's just that "Marvelous Things" made me feel similar to the way i felt when i first heard "Smile" by Flickerstick. Rob |

Flickerstick is from our neck of the woods, but EISLEY has never met them, or played with them. They play the same clubs in Dallas, TX, but they haven't met that I know of. And, i want to repeat....you are more than welcome to this board, as well as your thoughts and opinions. k P.S. i know the family thing kinda freaks people out sometimes in the day of lost families, fatherless/motherless kids, and it freaks people out to find an old fashioned family that really is so close, but....that's just us, and it's a big part of who Eisley is. Hopefully you will be treated with respect from the members of this board that sometimes let's their deep devotion, and love for this band, pounce on people that may not share that. I hope that hasn't happened to you. P.S. check out this video that Boyd put together from an unfinished EISLEY song. It captures the close feel of this family, all the way to the last shot of our family home. http://www.straylight6.org/vids/LostatSea2.mov There are other's on this site as well. Thank you Chas! |

i am a lucky guy right? Both my wonderful, amazing wife and my freakingly creative 13 year old daughter jumped in and defended my be-half. But, I think I like this Rob guy. Even when he was trying to kill me with his metal knives and sticking those sharp pins in his pvc Boyd-I-Joe doll, I was thinking I'd like this kind of guy. So, Rob....what will you give me if I get you in back stage at some show in England? I like antiques and old soft drink collectibles...and good reviews. _________________ EisleyWebGuy "The industrialists never saw the fruit of their own labor - Post Moderism, which I now proclaim as dead. Bribes! Heh. I'm looking at the Marvelous Things cover right now (got a copy for a friend's birthday). I've been looking at it a lot lot the last couple of days. I've decided that it feels like a neat book. One of those that you feel magic just opening. Like a Harry Potter hardcover. That's like Eisley for me. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

This thread is dope as money to the max. Its nice to see people talk about things related to the band (other than how they look etc). It is also good to see that there are opposing ideas concerning the band, and we all are able to discuss them without the evening ending in murder. _________________ "I will be gone, but not forever" |

Boyd, (if you come back to read this) if you ever feel like outsourcing any of the work, may I recommend Ben Frank. This guy has some amazing work, I think I might start trying to mix his style with yours and see what I come up with. _________________ |
