No. I'm saying The Cubs have beat them 7 times out of 7, and other than that the Pirates have been pretty good. Pirates have winning records against 4 teams this year (including Braves, Reds, Giants and Cardinals). Pirates are 20-22 despite losing all 7 to the Cubs this year. So yeah, I feel pretty good about how The Cubs have played The Pirates so far this year. Did The Red Sox just get swept by The Orioles? |

I've always hated ESPN rankings of the MLB teams. They move teams around way too much over a small sample size of games. A good example that's not the Red Sox, the Indians. 19th to 12th to 17th to 7th in the last four weeks. Also, how can you take yourself seriously to drop a team (the A's) you had number one a week ago to number 5 the next week? "Oops?" They play too much into the flavor of the week thing. At least they've been consistent with some teams like the Cubbies, Diamondbacks and some bottom ranked teams. |

Where did ESPN have The Rockies ranked last year in early September? I would guess not very high. In other words, none of that matters much to me. Red Sox are back in first place after sweeping The Brewers. Bet you're happy! Cubs won 2 of 3 this weekend, and hang onto a 2 game lead in their division. Man, Soriano has been playing well this past week (probably will get MLB player of the week honors). Hope it continues. GO CUBS!! |

I don't really follow mlb at all, but I wanted to tell you guys that the other day, somebody ordered a cake and wanted a photo on it and wanted the cake to say "Congratulations Cubs!" and I had to stop myself from adding "this is the year?" mostly because the customer probably wouldn't get the joke. _________________ guitarfreak217 wrote: Everyone, listen to Leigh. mostly because the customer probably wouldn't get the joke. Yeah, probably was a little league team or something. But that would have been funny! |

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/powerranking They almost have this ranking down, Cubs. Again, Red Sox 9th to 2nd... Astros 4th to 12th... White Sox 14th to 4th??? Anyway, all will be forgiven when they realize that the Sox would kick the Cubs lovable losing asses. |
