The original. Batman Begins was a mockery of a mockery.

Heath Ledger isn't the Joker in any of the others. He was very convincing in the trailors -- that movie is gonna be dark. Twisted Evil

people don't like Jack Nicholson as the Joker?

"Ever dance with the devil in the pale moonlight?"

Kim 'the hottness' Bassinger as Vicki Vale?

that scene where Keaton goes apesh*t in the apartment trumps every scene in any Batman movie ever made:

You wanna get nuts? Come on! Let's get nuts!

Prince does the soundtrack!!!!

that scene where they're painting the museum is hilarious.

B&R was a complete suckfest though.
at least we got new Pumpkins.
Forever's soundtrack introduced me to The Flaming Lips and Sunny Day Real Estate.

I liked them all, more or less. I grew up watching the original BATMAN series on TV and Adam West & Burt Ward actually ARE Batman and Robin as far as I'm concerned Wink I can remember my brothers and sisters and I all BEGGING my parents to take us to see "Batman The Movie" back in 1966. After a week or two of constant and relentless pleading, they loaded us all up in the station wagon with a couple of brown paper grocery bags full of home-popped popcorn and we were off to the the drive-in for a magical night I still remember 40 years later... Very Happy those were the good old days... saw just about every Disney movie that way too..

Now, if you want to get me all bent out of shape about something I've got REaaly serious opinions about, let's start a new thread about who was the best James Bond... Wink

The one that Frank Miller worked on, The Dark Knight Returns.

OH, WAIT. It didn't happen.

YEP! Hands down! Sean Connery was born to play James Bond Wink

Didn't care for any of the pretenders until Daniel Craig came along in
CASINO ROYALE. He's still not Sean Connery, but he's definitely the best BOND since Sean Connery... Smile Looking forward to the next Bond film later this summer..

I voted for the 1989 Batman. When I heard they were making a Batman movie, I thought "Is it going to be campy? How are they going to pull off that stupid crap as a serious story?" But Tim Burton(I'd never heard of him) did his thing and with it's dark style it worked really well. See there weren't many comic book superhero movies back then, other than the Superman ones and I thought they were pretty lame. I didn't see Batman Begins though.

I never saw the Adam West Batman movie but I've seen clips of it and reruns of the show and it's pretty hilarious. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X0UJaprpxrk When I was kid I didn't like it because I thought it was stupid. I didn't realize it was supposed to be a comedy. Laughing I loved the theme music though and the cartoon opening.
I'm an Adam West fan for sure. He's had some weirdly funny but failed TV shows and now he's great on Family Guy.

Is it in the movie where there's this exchange, Batman in full costume walks into a nightclub/restaurant and the waiter asks, "Would you like a table near the band?"

"No! No, I don't want to appear conspicuous!" Laughing

bigideas, half of what you listed should be reasons I SHOULDN'T like the 1989 Batman - Prince soundtrack, wooden Basinger. But it's my favorite anyway, because Nicholson ("Do I look like I'm joking?") is terrific, Burton gives a great look to Gotham, and as another person said Keaton works as both Wayne & Batman. When the movie was originally cast, I wasn't the only one who thought that was a terrible decision.

I have Batman Begins recorded to watch but can't make myself because the bad taste of Batman Returns & Batman and Robin (didn't bother with the other one) still lingers. Kinda spoiled the character temporarily.

Whoa whoa ... Batman Begins is absolutely nothing like "Forever." You can definitely watch with a clear pallet. Laughing

I shouldn't have beat up "Batman" so bad, it definitely was a high water mark for years for comic movies. But I still don't really care a lot for it. Though I agree, Nicholson did give an excellent performance.

I'm not a huge fan of any of them really, the ones I've seen, I've only seen once except Batman I may have seen a couple of times. Batman Returns seemed like it was pretty good. It had Michelle Pfeiffer in the Cat Woman suit, that was ok.
