Just out of curiosity, why do you use Windows when you have linux? My laptop is dual boot, but I rarely ever boot to Windows. Part of the reason I mostly use Windows is I play games and I find it a bother to have to reboot into Windows if I get the urge to play. The bigger issue is that I can not type on a keyboard very well so I use an on-screen keyboard to type (This is what I use). There is an onscreen keyboard for Linux but I find it unresponsive and inaccurate. _________________ Kulvir. |

Mac was a much better machine than the PC when they were using the G2/4 chip. But the newer Macs, in order to run Windows, aren't any better now, since ther'ye running the same chip. So all and all, might as well get a PC for the versatility! _________________ Mike=] |

It does take time to get used to the Mac, but just give it a chance. Spend as much time on the Mac as possible and eventually it will be second-nature. I got my first iMac in October 2004. It still runs great 3.5 years later. In December I got a MacBook just for mobility purposes and I adore it. I agree that LC seems to have a high percentage of Mac users, but nothing wrong with PCs (not here to debate as you said.) _________________ "I ask none to live for me, nor do I live for any others. Well sorry then, that makes a bit more sense. Anyway, my family's first computer, in about 1993, was a Macintosh Performa 575. In 1998 we upgraded to the first bondi blue iMac. That thing was a beast back in the day. 4GB hard drive, WOO! After that, we bought a Dell, because of some compatibility issues with school and whatnot. In 2004, I got my first personal computer, an iMac G4 (the one with the neck). A few months later, our family also got a G4 Mac Mini, right when it was released. Around the same time, my dad got a 12" G4 PowerBook for work. About a year ago, my sister got a black MacBook. Six months ago, I upgraded my iMac 15" 1gHz iMac to a new 20" 2.4gHz iMac. A few months later, my dad upgraded his PowerBook to a 15" MacBook Pro. In a few weeks, I'll also be getting a 15" MacBook Pro to complement my iMac. I guess you could say we've kind of always been a Mac family, though my mom and dad still each have a Dell desktop at home. _________________ EvilSpace |

It didn't have a hard drive , instead we got an external floppy drive so the internal floppy could have the system disk while the external had the application disk. That was a mighty home computer in 1987. Then we got a Mac LC in 1990 which had a whopping 40MB hard drive and a separate, colour monitor. This was replaced by a PPC 8100 in 1993 which was the last Mac I had because in 1997 when I wanted to upgrade, Mac towers were really overpriced and underpowered. It was one thing when my parents paid for stuff, another when I had to come up with the money. I was also convinced Apple was dying but then Steve Jobs came back and turned things around. _________________ Kulvir. |
