I went to a Weezer concert a few years ago when they were on tour with Foo Fighters. Weezer had a guy come up and play "Undone". They let him keep the guitar and stuff.

I was so jealous.

One time a fan who was chosen stepped up to the mic while Rivers was away in the crowd or something. dude starting singing "Blast Off!". Apparently Brian was laughing and Rivers rushed back on stage to stop the madness. Only in dreams.

Golly, Poster

I saw Relient K (on tour with Switchfoot) last November, and they had everyone who could play the guitar raise their hand. they picked a girl and two guys, and while they were playing a song somebody showed the girl the four power chords used for the Sadie Hawkins Dance chorus, and gave the two guys (who I knew, actually) percussion instruments and shoved them up on stage during the bridge of Sadie Hawkins Dance.
it was marvelous and fun and nothing went wrong.
it's possible!

I think that would be a dream come true for a lot of fans (including me). Hey, I get excited if a singer points the microphone down at me during a concert to sing into (which did happen about 5 times at one show I went to and it was AMAZING).

that'd be awesome.

When my sister saw Green Day a few years back they had some guy come up to play guitar with them. He was so good Billy Jo gave him the guitar.

didn't billy corgan have someone come on stage and play guitar one time?
i don't know why i'm thinking about that if he didn't.

all the weezer talk - they're doing that Hootenanny tour now where it's ton of people all with instruments playing along, even covering Radiohead's Creep.

here's a blog on it w/video (which i haven't watched):
