I can kind of understand where do not be afraid is coming from. He's passionate about Telecasters, I get that hehe. I don't like it when someone customizes an old muscle car by painting flames and putting 20 inch rims and other things to pimp them out when the car looks great as is. Now, I don't feel this way about the guitar being built for Chauntelle. I think it'll look great. As for the sound, I don't think he's trying to make a guitar that sounds like a Telecaster. If they wanted a guitar that looked and sounded just like a Telecaster they could just get a Telecaster.

oh, i think it'll probably look great too, just not my kinda of thing (and why should it be my sort of thing? it's not my guitar, or anything!), and i've basically already said that i don't think they're even trying to make it sound like a Telecaster (which is dissapointing for a Tele lover like me, but i honestly didn't expect that they would try and make a traditional Telecaster!), so… whatever... i think people are just making way too much of this, as usual!

although, i think the idea that if they just wanted a Telecaster they could just buy a Telecaster is a bit silly: go over to the Telecaster forum, and pretty much everyone either has, or is planning to, build their own Telecaster! most of them are very traditional, but still completely unique, and unlike anything you could ever find in Guitar Center! heck, even the people who own actual Fender guitars from stores often modify the crap out 'em! i only got that new Telecaster of mine on Friday, and i've already considered both a Bigsby, and either putting a humbucker in the neck (the whole Keith Richards thing) or turning it into an Esquire (i love the stock neck pickup, by the way, i'm just playing around with ideas for the heck of it!)

Hey guys....sorry for taking so long again. I have been camped out at my shop lately creating 5 different instruments, the coolest one is obviously Chauntelle's Very Happy

So here we go....This is the final product before finishing!

Here's a shot of the backside...I did change the body wood to Honduran Mahogany! I found this piece in my wood stash that was so darn light and beautiful...it was worthy of Chauntelle!

[/img]

The fingerboard is Brazilian Rosewood and the inlay is simple but classy...Abalone dot with sterling silver circles...Yeah I really like that touch!

This last pic was taken 2 days ago at the spray booth! The guitar has 3 coats of finish on it...although last nite I sprayed the color and bursted it and Man!!!!! Perfect!! Those pics to come soon...well that is if your interested Wink

[/img]

Well thats all for now! Let me know your GOOD thoughts! Enjoy!!!!
