There was this Neil Gaiman comic book a while back where a character said, "A boring word like woman takes all the fun out of being a girl." I agree, and I prefer to be called a girl (when proper nouns just won't cut it).

Hannah, that's a tough question! it depends on the circumstances!

Mind you, I can't actually think of a situation where i would be called a man/guy/dude. The only time would be an old granny on the bus saying "sonny boy". That tends to be a Scottish thing. And I don't particularly like it.Confused

I am fine with guy or dude. Man is fine, too. Boy is usually kind of used in a diminutive manner whenever I hear it, but not in every instance. I'd be fine with boy if it wasn't used in an insulting manner. I'm not very picky. ha. But I voted "guy," since I guess that's the one I am most at ease with.

Oh snap, if that got added to the poll, I'd have to go with it.

I like the casualness of being called a guy. When I hear man, I think of "the man" which I am against and boy bands have ruined the word boy.

Who wouldn't? Nothing like sliding on a pair of suspenders and roaming out into the woods to cut down some trees.

Oh and gotta finish up the day with some of my famous "mancakes"...I know that sounds dirty but they're basically just giant pancakes.

I just hate "guy." Whenever I hear someone say, "Hey, guy," I want to punch them in the face.

I'm fine with guy, in fact I prefer that, but I always refer to a member of the female gender (unless they're obviously a child,) as a 'woman!'
