Am I the only one who notices what kind of people go into the rock clubs? If I was a girl I would definitely not want to be setting this up.

Whatever happened to the time honored tradition of signing merch and memorabilia for money?

If you're gonna sell PDAs, I say sell personalized 70's style handshakes, you know the really complicated ones, with all kinds of jive and stuff.

Those are from the 70's? I thought people just did those whenever...

Undercover Brother is amazing.

Dap is a 60's 70's thing, but I think "secret handshakes" have been around as long as the Masons and all that jazz... something for a lonely bored day and a wikipedia search I guess, but I say it based on common knowledge (32 years of Black/African American Studies) and stuff I learned in school/ college.

I didn't want to laugh at Undercover Brother before I was it cause I was just expecting a bad, Jived-Up Austin Powers rip, but it was pretty funny. Without that movie we'd never have gotten the Neil Patrick Harris comeback and well, subsequent outing, who'd a thunk it?

Laughing

You know, sometimes there are poor, defenseless, funny scripts being mercilessly smothered under the weight of camera-mugging, line-blowing, actors. These vulnerable scripts have to fight to breath under that weight. UB managed to emerge and breath, but in retro the movie is even funnier on paper.

Since we are going into movies I didn't think would be funny AND mentioning Chris Rock, (in the 90's rock thread) Head of State was Ghastly, but Bernie Mac's 15 minutes in that movie were Hilarious. Based on that and his show, out of respect I'll probably go see Soul Men in the theater, even though watching bootleg of somebody else watching it in the theater would be an even more authentic show of respect. Plus Isaac Hayes was the original wildcard on South Park that put it over the top for me.
