This new report has 130 names of players who tested positive during the 2003 season, Rodriguez' is the first one publicized so far. And that number represents just the players who TESTED positive. Yeah, Bud Selig, this abuse proliferated on YOUR watch and you basically did nothing for years. (I'm sure he's a regular visitor to LC, yuk yuk.)

Am I surprised Pay-Rod juiced up? Hell no. Just another reason to detest the guy.

David Letterman's Top Ten Messages Left on Alex Rodriguez's Answering Machine:

10 -"Hey, it's Mark McGwire. Want to get together this week and not talk about the past?"

9 - "Joe Torre here -- thanks for helping book sales"

8 - "Could you find a steroid that keeps you from choking in the playoffs?"

7 - "Are you worried this will taint all the championships you didn't win?"

6 - "It's Bernie Madoff. Nice try but I'm still the most hated man in New York"

5 - "Michael Phelps here. Got any snacks?"

4 - "This is Sammy Sosa. Just pretend you don't speak English"

3 - "Michael Phelps again. Did I call you or did you call me?"
"
2 - Hey, it's Rod Blagojevich -- I'll say you're innocent, if you say I am"

1 - "It's Madonna. You got a phone number for Jeter?"

BTW - If Bonds went over to Oakland he would still draw fans from the Bay Area and he could DH since actually playing a field position is not an option. Too bad its not going to happen. Sad

Why so we can stop hearing things out of him soon? Well, that is until he decides to stop playing again or pushes an elderly Dodgers manager.

The Dodgers are complete idiots to give him that contract and should have gone after Dunn and Abreu (sp) for 1/4 the money.

This is a big reason why the Dodgers have gone 20 years without a Series win despite being one of the richest clubs in baseball. Money is only as good as your management of it, just ask any current bank CEO.

I guess I should have bumped this thread when the Cubs went to the NLCS in 2015 with Cy Young winner Jake Arrieta, Rookie of the Year Kris Bryant, and manager of the year Joe Maddon. Nice to see the long rebuild finally paying off. Is this the year? Vegas odds say yes. But with Kyle Schwarber already out with a season ending injury, I am hoping they can stay healthy for the long haul. Nice start otherwise though, 6-1 in first place.

Wait is there a rule about bumping old threads anymore? I'm guessing not. Is there even a mod anymore? Laughing I'm just too lazy to start a new thread, and I enjoyed reading some of this back.

I have always been a fan of the bumping of old threads and never really understood why anyone would have a problem with it. With this board as dead as it is, if someone had a problem with it in this case, I think it would be obvious that they have serious issues. Ha.

Unfortunately, I have no interest in the Cubs.
If it was the Rangers, that I would have some, but only limited.

I don't watch much sports anymore, but I did tune in to Kobe's last game just to see what would happen. I don't remember Jordan's last game at all. I'm not sure it was known beforehand whether or not he would come back, so maybe that is why? I remember that he ended in Charlotte, but that is it.

They knew he was retiring and the story I remember being circulated was that the teammates voted to not give him a gift. That may or may not be true. I do know that when he came back and expected to be able to rejoin the front office he was not welcomed back.
http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/sports/basketball/nba/wizards/2003-05-0 7-jordan-out_x.htm

I forgot about Kobe's game in the moment, but found out via the news, and I can not deny that I was indeed moved. That was some true theater right there.

Being from St. Louis, you'd think I would be a big Cardinals fan, but they lost me when they replaced Ozzie with Royce Clayton and then La Russa basically forced him into retirement. That pretty much ruined baseball for me and since then I tend to only root for major underdogs or teams with curses to be broken. So yeah, good luck Cubs. If the Red Sox and Black Sox can break their curses, it's only a matter of time right???
