Wooooo!

Yes, I was hoping for the song in the EisWood video #1 as well, but these two will be good tide overs until then!

I'm loving the clips that various people put up, thank you so much!

After a few listens, I'm really warming up to the songs. The sound quality, especially in the Boyd videos, are helping with that too.

I'm sure recorded. they will be breathtaking as they are really good already. I'm liking the chorus of "Smarter" especially, and "Be Kind" sounds like it's going to be another heart-tugging ballad like "Lost at Sea," "Combinations," "If You're Wondering," etc....

Again, thanks everyone for taping/posting links and Thanks Eisley for giving us a small taste of what's to come!

Here's what I've got so far for Be Kind:

"About you, _______ if you want me to, and pass the world, and pass the world, we fly. And we went high, yeah we flew high, and finally you let me in your dreams."

To be very kind, don't let the world fall on your shoulders. It's all, all fine. I will find, yeah, I will find you (again).

I'll cry with you, honey, if you need me to. I'll dry your tears, dry your tears for you. There is no crying, there is no crying and you and I were meant to live our dreams.

So be very kind, don't let the world fall on your shoulders. It's all, all fine. I will find, yeah, I will find you."

That's all I've got of that song so far.

I hear "I'll buy you a diamond if you want me to" instead of "about you ____"

Yup, that's what's she's saying.

Also, instead of "There is no crying, there is no crying and you and I were meant to live our dreams," I hear "there is no crime." There a definite m sound there, at least on the second part.

EDIT:

Here's what I can get out of the rest:

Oh, this is just what we need
and this is finally for real
I guess we never wanted anything else
I guess we never wanted anything
And you were right to let me be

EDIT 2:

Now for Smarter:

If I had one wish, it'd be for you and all your friends who didn't like me
If I had one wish, it'd be that we'd have danced more if I'd have popped her full of lead
If I sound deadly, I'm sorry but I can't hold I've been crying for so long
If you went to bed with me, well come on
I'm smiling now 'cause it's smarter than you think

I'm pretty doubtful of that bold line though, and after the first verse, I can only make out a few parts of it so i'll wait to figure out the rest before posting again.

Wow! What a great trip! I got back from Texas last night and was relieved to step off the plane and feel crisp Oregon air. Ahhhh. But other than the heat and humidity I was not used to feeling in April, the trip was amazing!

We got to Waco on Wednesday evening and our motel was right next to campus, so we went to check it out. Dr. Dog was playing a show, so we watching that and I checked Boyd's blog on my iPhone and saw a comment he left saying they were having soundcheck late that night, so we figured it would be after Dr. Dog's show (since it was the same stage Eisley was playing on the next night). Sure enough, they showed up. Just the boys at first to set up (Boyd, Weston, Garron, Collin, Mark). Girls came later. We talked to them a bit (without getting in the way), Garron and Collin showed us all of Chauntelle's and Sherri's guitars up close (I took a picture of them all on my iPhone - that was way cool). Then we sat off to the side and watched them do soundcheck, which was pretty cool. It was neat to hear the sound go from complete suckiness to a little better (it was never great sound, although I guess during the show the sound was pretty nice near the sound booth thingy). They would play like the first half of a few songs and then stop, sometimes saying something funny. It was a cool experience, as I have never seen a soundcheck by any band before. After soundcheck we talked to Stacy, Chauntelle and Boyd for a few minutes, then went back to sleep as we had been up for 36 straight hours at this point.

Thursday was awesome. Bunch of acts went on before Eisley (they didn't play until about 11:30 pm). I didn't watch much of the other acts since none really interested me, but I caught the set of this brilliant singer songwriter named Jillian Edwards. I'm in love with her music right now. Before Eisley went on I asked Boyd if they'd have a merch stand set up, and he replied "we will if you help carry all this merch." So we got to be Eisley roadies for a few minutes. Cool And everything was $10, including awesome zip-up hoodies (didn't have very many, but I snagged one).

Ok, this is getting too long and I haven't even talked about the concert. Basically, it was awesome. When I told Boyd and the band that after they kind of rolled their eyes and mentioned all the technical problems, but as a fan, I just enjoy seeing them play their wonderful songs for us. If I want great audio quality, I can put on my Room Noises vinyl. And the problems sometimes make for memorable moments. I have two from past concerts that I brought up to Stacy and Chauntelle the night before and they laughed about it and said they remember those (one was when Sherri forgot to sing the first verse of Telescope Eyes and after a few moments she said "I'm supposed to be singing right now, aren't I?" and the other was when it took about 4 tries to start Ten Cent Blues). Anyway, despite the mishaps, like Chauntelle's amp breaking, or the click track on Trolley Wood being off, or the really loud screeching noise coming from Sherri's mic (I think that is feedback, not sure, I'm not a musician), the show was incredible (as is every Eisley show I've seen) and I'm so glad I went to it. Seeing the two new songs was rad, and I love both of them. Seeing Max rock out on Smarter was a great show-cap. Oh and the set list was awesome. Tree Tops, Trolley Wood (on the Rhodes!), two new songs, Just Like We Do, Mr. Pine, Like The Actors, along with all the regulars. Awesome.

Oh and after the show it was great to talk to Darren again, he is so cool. He kind of remembered my buddy and I from talking to him last November in Seattle at the symphony show. And my buddy and I got a great picture with Boyd, all of us have serious faces. It's on my friends camera, I'll post it when I get it.

Oh and Parrish DuPree (Garron's mom) is so so nice. She was a pleasure to talk with.

If you're still reading, than you have a great attention span. I ramble a lot.

Haha. Hey, if you add up all your posts in this thread it'd probably be as long as that. I just decided to put it all in one post. Laughing

True, true. Besides, I did the same as you Friday night and typed up my account of the whole night on Facebook, which was longer than your post, so I have absolutely no room to talk.
