They were referring to their RECENT internet drama with the shapeless woodland fairy brats (or w/e) statement. The whole NFG fan attack thing. Not anything having to do with the origination of "Tree Tops" which is older than my nephew, or with what was going on when they first started as a band. Having sounded like a butt now, I just like for things to be clear to people. Haha... I wasn't trying to sound "Hmph!"ish. But yeah, Sherri mentioned the recent internet drama, talked about how they thought being called shapeless woodland fairy brats (I'm assuming a rabid NFG fan made this comment?) was hilarious, and JOKED about naming the new album that. That's the thing about Eisley, they have a great sense of humor. THE SHOW: The show was amazing. This was my 5th time, and the 6-hour drive was worth it. The first opening local band (Cohen and the Ghost) was awesome, really, but the second one was..er...not so great--Norcio. Norcio felt the need to say the F-bomb every five seconds in a song, and I'm no saint, but it just seemed a bit ridiculous. Plus they all looked 16 years old and had a "screamer" in the band. You could look in the audience and know all the Eisley fans because we were all standing still (especially when asked to FORM A CIRCLE PIT!?) with our eyes like O_O. But Cohen's performance made up for that... Eisley did wonderful, like always. They had a bunch of sound issues, it was a late, late show and things were just complicated. I heard the sound check and it was brilliant, but the first two songs they played for the show were very muffled and stressed, because the sound was messed up in the club. I think at one point Sherri said her guitar was being fed through her ear monitor? I don't know, but you could tell she was hearing some loud, garrish noises in her monitor by her faces. I think I saw Sherri mouth "Oh my god.." during "Invasion" because of the sound issues and she mouthed that other word for crap a couple times. But the sound issues were resolved, and even had they not been it would have still been amazing. Even when the sound was off I yelled "You still sound amazing!" because it's the truth. They rock it out even when things aren't going ideally for them... Out of gas on the way, big bad sound issues, late show, and Sherri almost lost her voice. The crowd was pretty enthusiastic. I was so glad to hear so much singing along and to hear enthusiasm about the WB split and to Stacy's dedication of "Just like We Do." There was a group of bubbly, chatty, well-groomed girls in front of my friends and me and initially I thought "where here's just another group of bratty girls for the openers," but they were definitely there to see Eisley. They got so psyched when Todd&crew started setting up, when the set lists were played, and sang to all the sonsg dancing. It makes me feel good to know I shouldn't make judgments and that people of all shapes, sizes, and character love the band Eisley. I was so excited at the set list. Stunned that they played "Combinations"--I don't know, to me it just seemed like that would be a tough thing to do at the moment. And it was BEAUTIFUL. Same encore as when I saw them during the acoustic tour--If you're wondering and then Trolleywood. Except Sherri told the crowd they weren't going to make us do the "One more song!" deal because it was so crowded and "we are all adults here." Haha. I liked that. "Just like we do" was the most intense thing to me, but it always is when I've seen them live. This was the first time I've had my partner with me to see that song live though, in the 3 years we've been together. I got kind of emotional--it was very beautiful and touching. Overall, it was a great experience. This was the first time I didn't hang around after the show to talk to the band--I was just too worn out. It was crowded and hot and very smoky, so it was definitely time to go to the hotel and sleep. After Jack in the Box of course. Thank you Eisley for delivering, as always. _________________ Previously user holland, 2005. Either my account became inactive from posting inactivity or I just downright forgot my password. |

And Sherri told a story about how they didn't realize Collin was too young to enter the club, and he had to use the bathroom (#2) and he asked a police officer around the venue if he could go inside the club to use the bathroom or something, and the person told Collin to just crap in the parking lot. That was a wonderful story. _________________ Previously user holland, 2005. Either my account became inactive from posting inactivity or I just downright forgot my password. |

Here's a link to Ambulance from the Baton Rouge show: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F95ejszWNJg Other than the sound issues, it was a great show. I theorize that some of the feedback issues may heave been that they placed Sherri right under the main house speakers. Here's my Facebook photos from the show: http://tinyurl.com/yj7b69w I think this is an accurate set list in order: Invasion Marvelous Things Many Funerals I Could Be There For You Mr. Pine I Wasn't Prepared The Valley Combinations Just Like We Do (dedicated to Darren & played on electric) Smarter (with Max) Go Away Golly Sandra Tree Tops Ambulance Come Clean Be Kind If You're Wondering Trolleywood |

A little editing and Boom!, the first slogan for a Eisley Fanclub only T shirt. All we need is a still of the guy on stage for the front with the question. and just the "nope." on the back. _________________ yup, that's my name. I'm dying with my electric show drought ... I think it was 2008 when I last saw them play properly. But it's good to see them playing and I'm glad to hear good reports from it. I was going to say something else but ... gahhh! Must see Eisley play electric instruments again! P.S. I also had avoided this whole drama thing almost entirely until I read above comments, but I'd much rather be "shapeless" than "cookie cutter." _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

I could have sworn I heard her say "along time ago" but then again I could be wrong. I was kinda far back and couldnt catch everything she said so this could be right. I took it as someone called them woodland fairy brats so they wrote tree tops. _________________ twitter.com/justcameron follow me |

Unregistered wrote: Thanks yall for the setlist! I just cant wait to hear JLWD 2.0! It's really the same arrangement as previously, just with Stacy playing the guitar part on an electric guitar instead of an acoustic. Sherri still sings the backing vox and I don't think Stacy changed what she actually plays at all. Just in case y'all are thinking it's a new arrangement... it's not. |
