"And sorry purists , i had to change a few lyrics. i just sounded way too dumb saying 'yo and homies'. enjoy. xo" Is she implying that people who use the words 'yo' and 'homie' (requires separate scare quotes [lol, irony (i'm not great at grammar, myself, but c'mon)]), without irony, are/sound dumb? Because these terms are merely a product of enculturation (and pretty specific cultures at that) and really don't speak to intelligence levels. Yeezy's not only intellectually gifted, he's also a complete musical genius. Life's different when you live in whitey-Jesus-land. _________________ EisleyForever wrote: you're A-list in my heart! I was pretty bored by this cover, but I can't blame it on Sherri. aaaah, she is awesome! although i have no idea what song(s) she has covered?? that's what you get when you rarely read liner notes (nor listen to hiphop). _________________ http://www.twitter.com/drstrangeblog http://www.last.fm/user/getinline I can't find the time to write my mind the way I want it to read. |

^ I was wondering the same thing, cause I've got all the Cardigans records, A-Camp, & uhm that's all I can think of that she's featured on other than Sparklehorse (got those two) and Nathan Larson's stuff, (got those two). I didn't get that soundtrack EP she did though... _________________ yup, that's my name. FOR YOUR RATING PLEASURE: 4 LIKE Buttons, 1 NEUTRAL, 1 VEXED, 5 DISLIKE buttons. Also, she sang an awesome version of Whole Lotta Love at some Zep honors, Plant was looking like, "Wow, I really do sound like a girl." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JCk6FWAltSg Nina Gordon is the Veruca Salt alum, unless there's a newcomer with the same name I don't know about. Well one short search and I found a song already. Hilariously good, Nina covering NWA. Reaffirms my claim that she is awesome, and apparently was completely comfortable singing it as-is; (wo)man up, Sherri! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NG2EGOB9-lc _________________ http://www.twitter.com/drstrangeblog http://www.last.fm/user/getinline I can't find the time to write my mind the way I want it to read. |

^ ah yeah, Nina and Louise... My bad, skimming vs. reading to get caught up = fail on my part. Nina last me when her first single as a solo artist sounded like a rewrite of Building a Mystery I immediately checked out, losing all hope of hearing another song as rad as THIS Eisley should Cover That!!!
